Here we can discuss all things related to the "Fallout" franchise. For example, why "Fallout 3" won't f***ing work on my PC!!!!! >:(

I've got three saves on Fallout 3, all are either stuck in different places or it's what I like to call my "Fuck around and don't care about consequences" save.

I AM ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE CONVERSATION THAT IS OCCURING WITHIN THIS THREAD.

I HAVE PLAYED 15 MINUTES OF FALLOUT, HOWEVER I DID NOT OWN IT AND SO I COULD NOT PLAY ENOUGH OF IT.

ACTUALLY I ALSO PLAYED ABOUT 20 MINUTES, BUT THAT WAS LATER IN THE GAME AND I WAS RUNNING AROUND OUTSIDE OF THE PLAYING AREA AND STARING AT THE BACKS OF MOUNTAINS WHILST LAUGHING HEARTILY.

CAPS-LOCK.

Fallout and Fallout 2 were way better, back when super mutants weren't pussies with .22 rifles.

>_>

<_<

Not that I have over 1000 saves and around 500 hours of gameplay time.

No way.

That would be silly.

Cheez I have a copy that doesn't require a CD. You just extract the files from a RAR file and click the .exe

I like to collect obscene amounts of landmines of all types, then make a mountain of them, stand on them, and fire a mini-nuke at my feet. I've sent my body from outside Megaton to the NukaCola factory before.  :o

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: Iceburger on August 19, 2009, 03:23:06 pm
Mwahaha, imagine that with the MIRV, the unique mini-nuke launcher that fires 8 at once.

...

That would be one hell of an explosion.

Well I already have them for free but I plan on buying them when I get the cash because I like them enough to spend the money.

I played it, beat it, then modded the hell out of it. Then it got boring.

Anyone have the DLC's?

Title: Re: Fallout

Can't. It'd take too long.
Seriously, it takes about 1-5 minutes just to load a new page of internets. This PC SUCKS.

Also, it ain't my computer, so it'd be wrong to install stuff like that.

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: Dr. McNinja on August 25, 2009, 04:41:51 pm
Probably some sort of disk burner or virtual drive manager.

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: TheLastOutlaw on August 25, 2009, 04:45:43 pm
Who said anything about pirating it?

Uploading it for free download of a non abandonware game?  Or did I misunderstand the turn the conversation was taking?  If so I apologize.

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: NerdPower! on August 25, 2009, 07:00:04 pm
But when we were talking about uploading it we thought it was Abandonware because it was when I downloaded it in the first place.

But sadly, the copyright lawyers won't believe that we simply just 'did not know'.

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: Grammer on August 26, 2009, 03:22:09 am
If you're going to have a virtual drive manager, use DAEMON tools. I've seen complaints at one point or another for all other drive managers out there, except Daemon. Tried to run all manner of bizarre formats past it, never had any trouble.

(BTW, according to local law, I'm allowed to make image file backups, as long as they are only for me, i.e not shared. I've used this opportunity to create and test a wide assortment of image file types. Of course.)

Which is why I didn't delete posts or ban anyone.  I just wanted to put out a friendly reminder to steer away from dangerous terrritory.  Carry on.

Yo.

I bought and installed Fallouts 1 and 2. I tried playing Fallout 1 just now, and it was odd. Loads of pixels aren't showing the right colour. I tried doing a print screen thingy but it didn't come out right. Unfortunately, it's kind of hard to explain, I can only hope you guys know what I mean. Can anyone help me with this? How do i fix it?

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: Dr. McNinja on August 27, 2009, 01:54:03 pm
I had the same problem, you're running XP right? right click on the game, go to properties and set the compatibility to either windows 95 or 98, I'm not sure which.

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: Cheez on August 27, 2009, 03:37:25 pm
Vista actually, but it's probably the same problem. Cheers mate.

EDIT- Steam won't let me run it in compatibility mode. Anyone know how i can solve this?

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: mineplantingrunaway on October 09, 2009, 03:58:01 pm
have completed every fallout game except for the first one, the disc was a disaster when i wanted to reinstall it.

in my meaning they removed to much of the original fallout when they made the third one, not just the whole converting into a Fps

*please don't ask me for help with the games i  completed them age's ago, don't remember much + anyone knows if the first one is freeware yet?

( i know this topic is old so you don't have to post back )

But I agree with what you said about Fallout 3, it just didn't feel... Fallout-y.

Thx for the quick response , and just as you said , fallout 3 ain't fallout . it's something else, but it includes undead's and nice explosions.
good enough for me.

oh,well might as well skip the first game until it becomes freeware , buying the game would increase my nerd lvl.

I've been playing Fallout: Tactics for the playstation.

It's so bad its lulzworthy in my opinion. My boyfriend won't let me have Fallout 1 or 2, but I have completed 3.

Title: Re: Fallout
Post by: Dr. McNinja on October 09, 2009, 04:51:06 pm
I liked Tactics, but for being a post apocalyptic tactics game, it failed at being a Fallout game.

I'm like, two quests away from beating it 100%. Pretty bored of the game now.

Have you tried running around with Jingwei's Shock Sword and the Chinese Stealth Armor.

Backstabbing a overlord has never felt as entertaining.

Ps. If they have time to run you have failed.  >:(

Too late. It was freeware (Well, abandonware actually, but it's basically the same thing for us), but they started charging for it again after Fallout became popular again because of 3.

Finished 1 a couple of days ago, BTW. Awesome game. Though it'd be nice if the Vaultdweller could run, like the Chosen One in 2.

Neither can I, that's why I'm sad too.

I played it on the 360, it was good, but from what I can tell is PC is always better then console.

Title: Re: Fallout

If there's a PC version, and console version of a game, it's probably best to get the PC version. With Fallout you can get ton's of crazy custom stuff.
