Etrian Odyssey II, fought Chimera on the 5th floor and got my ass handed to me on a ribcage platter.
What a wonderful game...

Almost thought you said hurry...

But both work well. And very sorry on being incompetent, this will be the last weekend I'll be this incompetent for a while.

Slowly coming to a halt, Thomas looked at his blackberry again to confirm the location. Looking at the shop and the blackberry again, he sighed and shook his head. Running his hand through his hair, he rolled his eyes and said, "it has to be done, for the greater good."

Silencing the engine, he pocketed the blackberry and stepped out of the car, locking it and pocketing the keys. Placing a hand in his pocket, he walked to the shop front with his head held high and knocked swiftly on the door.

Get in, get out. Just wish I didn't have to associate with them so much... But at least it's only one of them. What are the odds there are anymore? Not that I would notice them.

Curses... I'll whip up something asap.

How IS Meteos? I've been meaning to pick it up and then I don't.

And I still need to find a copy of Tetris. ;A; I lost mine.

I have 144 hours logged in on it, and it's absolutely amazing.
It's a fast paced game of matching rows of 3-5 or columns of 3 to launch meteos from your planet onto that of your opponents, so their screen fills up and their planet explodes.
A tad like Tetris, but on crack. But the original version is the one to get, don't even touch the lesser Disney version!
Fast, frantic, hectic, chaotic and requires good reflexes. One of the best puzzlers out there.

I have columns of scratches from Meteos, and an actual small scratch that's noticeable at first glance. Kinda a small dent.
But too late for either of us, eh?

I could have used a stylus like that for Meteos.
That, and a screen protector.

A Samurai with an afro cutting a bullet in half only for the shards to go past him and hit the people behind him.

Do you have another suggestion for Sammich's next picture?

AP: Ralion's taste in wholesome television that's fun for the entire family.

AP2: Just got a copy of Death Troopers from the library, but have to wait a bit until I start it.

Metal? I'm still stuck with the plastic stylus... Probably my fourth or fifth one.
And last thing on the Dark Spire, I don't know for sure if cartography is a large aspect of it, just know it's similar to EO.

I also finished the main story of TWEWY and am working on the side quests and the final day. Yeah... I need to start playing some happy games now.

You sir, have exquisite taste.
And have you picked up the King Arthur pin?

Playing Etrian Odyssey II, and lost an hour of time. Time fly when you're slaughtering monsters. Until they slaughter you right back (Not yet, but soon).
5186  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Groovy DS games! on: December 11, 2009, 09:34:58 am
My sources tell me that there are only four other first-person RPGs on the DS, two of them being EO I and II.
The only one that resembles EO is The Dark Spire, and it looks like more of the same. The last one, doesn't resemble any of the above.

5187  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: What did we learn today? (Apart from that australian wine rocks.) on: December 11, 2009, 09:23:32 am
TIL that Atlus is making a third Etrian Odyssey.
Also my AP for the day.
5188  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Groovy DS games! on: December 11, 2009, 09:13:53 am
Hmm... I only played Izuna and Shiren, and cannot vouch for the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Series, and Etrian Odyssey I and II are more like dungeon crawler/cartography than roguelike...
The Dark Spire is brutally difficult and more on the lines of Etrian Odyssey.

So I have no suggestions at the time.

Haven't played it, but it looks pretty good. Wish it was a remake of Heroes of Might and Magic III though.
5189  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Groovy DS games! on: December 11, 2009, 07:55:02 am
Ah, I can see that. Having to do everything all over again and suffer through excessive grinding.

Ain't that the truth, and it will happen often. And God forbid you enter a monster house in that game.
But death is all the more tragic/painful when your healing items can't save you because you got turned into a riceball.
5190  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Groovy DS games! on: December 11, 2009, 07:34:50 am
I kinda know what you're talking about, seems boring getting back into a roguelike? With all the grinding and simplistic combat?

Something tells me I'm not to recommend Shiren to you.
