5191  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Groovy DS games! on: December 10, 2009, 04:47:27 pm
I had it for a bit, but I wasn't really feeling it at the time, and I've always been interested in picking it back up.

Winter is the time to get back into it!

And the last few games I can recommend that I played are Picross and Dragon Quest Rocket Slime.
The former is addictive and unbelievably good. The second one is short, charming, overwhelmingly cute and features mech battles.

I think we all agree that you should get Hotel Dusk. XD
@HK: B-but a game can't just tear us apart like that! Remember that time we jacked Old Man Palpatines Star Destroyer? He was so pissed! Don't you remember the good old times, man?! Now you just want to get rid of me over a DS game! T_T

Yeah... Those were some good times... Piloting under the influence and being drunk with the never quenching thirst of slaughtering others... I missed those times...

Over a- This is... This is THE DS game! This is the game that revolutionized Japanese Pop Culture! It mixed J-Pop with Hip-Hop and groovy styles and pins! Pins with skulls on them!
But... I'm- I'm sorry... I was taken over by an emotion other than anger, rage, hatred or a completely natural genocidal, psychotic, homicidal-based emotion against your meatbag kind.

It truly is a great game... One of the absolute best... But can you forgive me for letting one of the best DS games of all time nearly break our friendship?

We almost had a huge, plot driven post, and you ruined it less than a minute after it was posted!
Guess that means I'll have to think of something quick...

Today is the Math Cumulative, and next Monday is the Securities project, and some notes for a novel are due before the holidays, so I'm still swamped.
5193  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Groovy DS games! on: December 10, 2009, 05:50:40 am
Ralion, you did the right thing!
And I second Rondo of Swords, but once again, good luck on finding a copy.

Yut, I don't think we can be friends anymore... Anyone who doesn't fully like TWEWY must be more evil than I.
But since you mentioned a sequel to Hotel Dusk, I may make an exception.

I'm glad that we all agree that Hotel Dusk is amazing.

How irritated were you when you had to get the letter under the safe. >C

Was that the one where you could only get half of the letter?
Curse those puzzles... And if I remember, that was one of the ones that had me scratching my head.

I also second Advance Wars: Days of Ruin.
5194  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Groovy DS games! on: December 09, 2009, 09:34:55 pm
I'm sold for the Henry Hatsworth.

I third Hotel Dusk: Room 215, one of the best Adventure games out there on the DS and one of the best stories for the system in general.

For RPGs, Etrian Odyssey I or II: Heroes of Lagaard, both for a niche genre, but excellent RPGs nonetheless. Customization, map-making and you dying if you don't plan ahead. But the second one improves on the first immensely, especially on the map-making aspect.

Puzzlin' fix, Meteos. Tetris on crack, and quite addicting.
Or Puzzle Quest, which is simply RPG + Bejeweled

And I may have to go against Hail on this, but Age of Empires over Age of Mythologies.

The World Ends With You, hands down, one of the best, greatest DS games ever made. You should forget everything else and go buy it right now.

And my final suggestion for the night is:

Shmup, Bangai-O Spirits. Rockets, Napalm. Homing-Napalm... Explosions, slowdown due to a huge array of explosions and missiles onscreen...
Good luck finding a copy.

Not at all, don't know much about weather but sleet works perfectly.
All I know is that it made plenty of shush, and soaked through my old shoes in three minutes.

AP: Sleet
5196  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: The Anti-Peeve rides again! on: December 09, 2009, 06:57:19 am
AP: Major Cobalt, for screwing others over on the I-85.

AP2: Snow and rain at the same time, love this weather!
5197  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: The Anti-Peeve rides again! on: December 06, 2009, 12:38:24 pm
Lady Luck, you are... My L-Trigger broke ages ago. I blame my previous Meteos addiction, should have taped it down while I played.
If only Bangai-O Spirits didn't need it...

AP: Actually finding a copy of Bangai-O Spirits.
5198  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: The Anti-Peeve rides again! on: December 06, 2009, 12:28:21 pm
I have the same copy, but can't delete the profile that's already on there due to a broken L Trigger.
And nothing beats a discount Tongue
Haven't played it much, but it was pretty good, not as good as Age of Empires: Age of Kings though.

AP: The prospect of being able to play The Dark Spire.
5199  General Discussion / Movies/TV Discussion / Re: Latest Movie You've Seen on: December 06, 2009, 12:19:11 pm
The Emperor's New Groove again, still one of my favorite animated movies.
5200  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: The Anti-Peeve rides again! on: December 06, 2009, 07:10:50 am
AP2: Age of Empires: Mythologies should be arriving in the mail tomorrow Monday!

DS or PC version?

To keep on topic while veering off it, AP: A dream where it's a twisted version of my life. The best part was not the mauling, or those adorable little foxes (Who most likely did the mauling), but somehow being referred to as Aladdin.
5201  Roleplaying / Role Playing Sign up and OOC / Re: The Supernatural (OOC) on: December 05, 2009, 03:02:00 pm
Kinda in that situation as well, except it's a few projects and less troublesome than finals.
5202  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: PP: Not having a Pet Peeves thread. on: December 05, 2009, 01:06:21 pm
PP: Not having snow or rain. The sun is too cheerful at a time like this.
5203  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: The Anti-Peeve rides again! on: December 05, 2009, 08:31:53 am
Definitely have to agree with you there, I was actually laughing out loud at the anime, more than I did with the manga.
Especially the first episode...

AP: How I can normally sleep for 7 hours and feel tired, but today for 5 hours and waking up feeling well rested. This may get me back later on, but still feels good to get a good night's sleep.
5204  General Discussion / Random Stuff / Re: Interview With A Forum Crazy II: Modern Wurfur on: December 04, 2009, 11:55:48 pm
Etrian Odyssey II, hands down. The original warranted a sequel, and it was greatly improved on, though the original was amazing in it's own right.
Old-School gameplay, great exploration, simply amazing customization and an absolutely brutal difficulty level. But if this one is uncommon (Most likely to be rare soon), then The Dark Spire... But I used up my answer.

Same question once more.
5205  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: PP: Not having a Pet Peeves thread. on: December 04, 2009, 11:20:29 pm
Alex makes a most excellent point, and you should follow his suggestion, if it's what I think it is.

And remember:
It's only illegal if you get caught, or when they identify your prints on the corpse.

Or on the bones, if that's all that's left after... Decomposition.
