5341  General Discussion / General Discussion / Words on paper in this technological world, reading anything? on: September 22, 2009, 01:41:50 pm
I went through a few books in the summer; the ones I can remember:

Army of the Republic - Stuart Archer Cohen
As the Crow Flies - Jeffrey Archer
Azincourt - Bernard Cornwell
Battle Royale - Koushun Takami
The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
The Last Kingdom - Bernard Cornwell
The Pale Horseman - Bernard Cornwell

Now I'm on to Not Wanted on the Voyage (Again) by Timothy Findley (For English), Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk and thinking of doing American Gods and Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman for my English assignment.

Have you stopped by Goodreads, and read your book today?
5342  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Y'arr would ye like Monkey Island Tales Episode 1 for free, matey? on: September 20, 2009, 06:09:42 pm
In honor of Talk like a Pirate day, TellTale games is giving away Monkey Island Tales Episode 1 for absolutely free! Yes! Free! Free is awesome!
Monkey Island!

You are awesome!

The offer ends Midnight. Too late now I believe.
Guess I should have mentioned that... XD
Well, I got it, to bad it doesn't work on my computer!

Not as awesome as 5 seconds ago, but still awesome.
If I only got there in time...
5343  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: What did we learn today? (Apart from that australian wine rocks.) on: September 18, 2009, 10:18:49 pm
Sir! *Salutes* You always do the right thing sir!

Vehicle Specialist... As in you can run over a few things, cause some property damage and then repair/repaint the air ambulance so it's as good as new?
5344  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: The Anti-Peeve rides again! on: September 18, 2009, 10:08:59 pm
AP3: Awesome coloured pencils Cheesy

Those are awesome! For the artist with a small wallet.

By fresh, do you mean recently slaughtered by your resident do-gooder?
I'm sure you had more use for the air ambulance than the paramedic, it's not like he was on his way to a crash site where the life of a person depended if he made it there in time or not.

I'm just curious, but what happened to the air ambulance?

TIL that my Shadowrun character is getting a reputation among the GM and other players as a total psychopath.

Jeez, just because she parks a lawnmower over an injured foe and turns it on, thinks throwing corpses (and one live prisoner) out of a helicopter onto a children's tea party is a funny idea and happily volunteered to blind someone using a red-hot screwdriver as part of an interrogation, folks assume something's not right with her. Not fair, I say!

I agree! What you did was fair and just! You don't spare mercy to your enemies, those corpses were rotting away and the prisoner probably on death row, those children were probably midget terrorists, and interrogations are always about causing pain until they give in.
Do your GM and fellow players have morals?

I also learned enough math to make my head hurt.

AP: Fawful, my main reason for buying Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.
5348  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: What are you playing? Episode 2: Sequel Reloaded! on: September 18, 2009, 01:42:00 pm
I would get Superstar Ultra if I had a GBA. XD
I can always get it on an emulator I guess.

Oh, and no, so far it doesn't appear that the Left Shoulder Button is used.

And yeah, Fawful is back!

So yeah, thats what I have been playing!

You had me at Fawful... Is his dialogue cheesy and does he mention anything about bread or mustard?

If it weren't so new, I would buy it. If only for the dialogue.
5349  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: What are you playing? Episode 2: Sequel Reloaded! on: September 17, 2009, 01:34:41 pm
I've never played the first two, and I'm not far into this one yet, but he is mentioned, and I have heard that he is back.
So in short, yeah, I believe so.
I should download the second one.

You should get Superstar Saga, featuring Fawful.

Does it use the Left Shoulder Button? Lost mine a long time ago...

Is Fawful back? If he is, then that warrants an instant purchase for me.

AP: Inspector Gadget
5352  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: PP: Not having a Pet Peeves thread. on: September 14, 2009, 04:44:49 pm
PP: 3 hours of sleep, a useless textbook (Taped up, but still works, somewhat), finished my book in the Drop Everything And Read program and in my spare, my DS ran out of power. And then Math. I didn't understand half of what was said, but I got the gist of it at least, I hope.

PP2: Being a Monday. This wouldn't have happened if it was another day.
5353  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: What are you playing? Episode 2: Sequel Reloaded! on: September 14, 2009, 04:40:20 pm
Hail, evolve that Pokemon Mystery Dungeon into Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer!

You may not thank me when you die for the 7th time, losing your +11 Katana because you turned into a riceball, but it be a game for the sadist in all of us. But do post a review of it when the old forums get back up!

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift, won me 2/3 and 3/4 of the areas in two of the Auctions.
The World Ends With You, still so wonderful...
5354  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: The Anti-Peeve rides again! on: September 13, 2009, 07:29:55 pm
AP: Reel Big Fish, I remember their song Sell Out being in Aggressive Inline.

ensouls' The Go! Team AP reminded me of it, don't know why...

AP2: ensouls for making me remember.
5355  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: PP: Not having a Pet Peeves thread. on: September 13, 2009, 07:27:30 pm
This is due to my inability to notice the obvious, but...

PP: Touched a pan while it was still hot (Was holding one end of it with an oven mitt, or a simple oven cloth) and burned three of my fingers. Fortunately, it only nearly dropped on my toes, and I ended up dropping it in the sink.
