Finished Monster, caught up with Bleach, finished Planetes and on to Read or Die, rereading Great Teacher Onizuka and getting back into Claymore.

Obscene amounts of rain.
It's nice to remember that I don't own an umbrella.

I do not know what you just said, but it was probably benevolent.

But I did hear waterproof, and that's perfect... Most perfect...

Street Fighters: The Last 72 Hours of Bear Stearns, The Toughest Firm on Wall Street by Kate Kelly, quite good, and it's definitely keeping my interest.

On volume 17 of Monster, but more fair to say I finished 16 this morning and haven't started 17 yet.
5344  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: What are you playing? Episode 2: Sequel Reloaded! on: October 01, 2009, 01:41:43 pm
Picross DS,  8th Set of FreePicross puzzles, and only two to go for that set, completed 3-4 today.
Now one of the reasons I recharge my DS every 12 hours. Or when I remember.

Indeed! That sounds like a head-smashing good time!

Can we start playing?

Today I learned an Astro Boy movie is in the making (Learned it late, probably).
Just looking at the poster for a few seconds sent me chills.

I never got past Force Heretic I, but I do have the trilogy and The Final Prophecy. Been meaning to read it for a while, and been keeping myself spoiler free from what happens next.

Also reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson.
It's what a textbook should be. So far, deals with physics, chemistry, geology, astrology and cosmology, and that's less than 200 pages in.

You've got The Book Thief - Markus Zusak down twice, or is it just that good? =P

It is narrated by Death, so it's good right off the bat Tongue

And forgot that I left it in twice, was trying to reorganize it into alphabetical order, but I guess I'm incapable of doing that.
5349  General Discussion / General Discussion / Words on paper in this technological world, reading anything? on: September 22, 2009, 01:41:50 pm
I went through a few books in the summer; the ones I can remember:

Army of the Republic - Stuart Archer Cohen
As the Crow Flies - Jeffrey Archer
Azincourt - Bernard Cornwell
Battle Royale - Koushun Takami
The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
The Last Kingdom - Bernard Cornwell
The Pale Horseman - Bernard Cornwell

Now I'm on to Not Wanted on the Voyage (Again) by Timothy Findley (For English), Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk and thinking of doing American Gods and Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman for my English assignment.

Have you stopped by Goodreads, and read your book today?
5350  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: Y'arr would ye like Monkey Island Tales Episode 1 for free, matey? on: September 20, 2009, 06:09:42 pm
In honor of Talk like a Pirate day, TellTale games is giving away Monkey Island Tales Episode 1 for absolutely free! Yes! Free! Free is awesome!
Monkey Island!

You are awesome!

The offer ends Midnight. Too late now I believe.
Guess I should have mentioned that... XD
Well, I got it, to bad it doesn't work on my computer!

Not as awesome as 5 seconds ago, but still awesome.
If I only got there in time...

Sir! *Salutes* You always do the right thing sir!

Vehicle Specialist... As in you can run over a few things, cause some property damage and then repair/repaint the air ambulance so it's as good as new?

By fresh, do you mean recently slaughtered by your resident do-gooder?
I'm sure you had more use for the air ambulance than the paramedic, it's not like he was on his way to a crash site where the life of a person depended if he made it there in time or not.

I'm just curious, but what happened to the air ambulance?

TIL that my Shadowrun character is getting a reputation among the GM and other players as a total psychopath.

Jeez, just because she parks a lawnmower over an injured foe and turns it on, thinks throwing corpses (and one live prisoner) out of a helicopter onto a children's tea party is a funny idea and happily volunteered to blind someone using a red-hot screwdriver as part of an interrogation, folks assume something's not right with her. Not fair, I say!

I agree! What you did was fair and just! You don't spare mercy to your enemies, those corpses were rotting away and the prisoner probably on death row, those children were probably midget terrorists, and interrogations are always about causing pain until they give in.
Do your GM and fellow players have morals?

I also learned enough math to make my head hurt.
