I don't think I've ever mentioned it here, but I do stock photography on DA. Since many of y'all are artists, I though you might make some use of it: UPDATE: I just did a series of death poses. I though some of ya'll might want them. anyman82.deviantart.com

Okay, I wouldn't do it myself, but I have to admit the thought of an army slaughtering zeds while singing Bohemian Rhapsody in unison is bloody hilarious. IS THIS THE REAL LIFE. *Chatter of gunfire* IS THIS JUST FANTASY. *Clatter of gunfire* etc.

General Discussion / Zombie Stuff / War Anthems

So here's something new: I'm sure we all know how much power music can have in general. It can move us to tears or make us so elated that we might as well be high. And I'm also sure many of you know that music has been used since it's inception to stir troops to victory. So here's what this thread is about. Not the soundtrack to your apocalypse adventure, not your battle song, but the anthem you would play as you led your troops into battle with the zeds. Keep in mind that it would have to have some basic universal meaning. Something everyone can appreciate as 'fuck yeah, let's kick their asses' Mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHj0etrp4hY&feature=related

Nah, it's pretty much a pointless waste of ammunition for several reasons:
1. Bullets aren't very good at decapitating. 2. People, and therefore zeds, are many different sizes. There is no definite "neck-level". 3. Unless you hit a zed clear in the center of mass, which would be lower than neck-level anyhow, you won't do much to stop them. The bullets would just go through. 4. You'd run out of bullets extremely fast. Within 15-30 seconds even with the most high-capacity guns. 5. You'll wear out your barrel. and 6. Anything short of a direct mount to either a vehicle or the ground and that thing is gonna buck like a mule.
So yeah, if you're close enough to do that, you'd be better off just switching your gun to semi-auto and choosing your shots.
On the other hand, if it's rage zombies, like in 28 Days Later, this might work just because they can be killed by non-headshots.

I'm with Ricky and Cheez.
If I'm at home, I'm making sure my family's all right. If I'm out, you bet your ass I'll be going out there and finding my way back to my house to get back to them. Also, fighting with Marines to get home? OKAY.
With, or against?

Thicker and more spread out... Hmm, admittedly not the best of terms to use. Imagine a Tsunami. It spreads out as it hits land, but the massive amounts of water behind it keep it just as deep and powerful as always (Until it runs out, of course). I wasn't advocating Yonkers as a model of how to deal with zeds. Good god that was stupidly managed. XD
I was talking about firing by ranks in this case. If you're all firing independently in semi-auto like in WWZ one line is fine.

That is true but I wouldn't be all that worried if it was the slow zombie. There would be plenty of time to reload. Plus you would be firing single shot so you have 30 rounds before you need to reload and some people would shoot faster than others. So you would still get constant firing rate.
Hmm, I'd have to disagree about having a single line. One of the biggest mistakes you can make with crawlers is to underestimate them. If we're talking about a hundred or two, then you'd be fine. But if we're talking Yonkers numbers (For those who haven't read WWZ, basically the entire population of NYC.) any break in fire, even if it's a few seconds to reload, will translate to the hoard getting closer, thicker, and more spread out. Repeat that several times and you're overrun.
