PP: My habit of wanted to make dark, dark jokes. It comes in handy when everyone wants to laugh at a morbid situation, but it's in appropriate far too often.

Desert Punk because its funny and whacky and I know one of you bastards led to em enjoying it. I gotta read the manga sometime.

AP: I joined this forum like five years ago. I was like, thirteen and now I'm kind of a grownup. Moreso than when I was thirteen.
You guys have been there for like, five years. Holy amazeballs.
Ahaha. I was ~19 when I joined. I did the same thing with another forum, funny enough the chat room fro that place is still up. Only 4 "users" are in there. Me, a guy who joined a year after I did, someone who joined 6 years after us and a trivia bot that doesn't work. We refuse to give up. Sadly (or not so sadly) that web comic died and everyone else moved one. I miss the odd chats we had.

I meant turning back the status quo to what it had been forty years before was ridiculous.  Pete and MJ's marriage has been a huge part of his character and had been one of the things that made him one of the more believable hero's in the Marvel universe.  And geez, the guy accidentally killed his first love, it was nice to see something nice happen to him.  If they really wanted Spidey to be single again they could have done another sinister six storyline where MK either gets killed in the fallout or finally leaves him like she threatened to do in one of the early sinister six battles when she accused him of being suicidal and not caring about how his superheroing affected her.  That would have been better character growth either way than "oooh, magic, we just changed almost 30 years of continuity so all your favorite stories?  Probably never happened."  Thanks guys...
You know she confessed that she loved him in Spider Island? It's not even going to stick!
20  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: What are you playing? Episode 2: Sequel Reloaded! on: September 14, 2013, 12:22:02 am
I played Sleeping Dogs almost immediately after Saints Row 2(I d/ed both but didn't play them for a long time) and I loved the hell out of both of them. I don't own GTA IV but I disliked it whenever I played over my friends house, my biggest gripe is the same as everyone else's: too much realism in the wrong areas.

Meanwhile in SR:2 I sprayed fecal matter on peoples houses for one mission, immediately following it up with a story mission that had a real sense of gravity to it.

Hell, I want a SR2 style game and a Sleeping Dogs/Alpha Protocol mash-up game as soon as someone makes them.

PP: My girlfriend had to leave her rats with me when she moved, and I didn't mind as long as she'd come back and actually take care of them. The problem is, she's not, and my room is starting to fucking reek of rat shit, and I'm starting to find roaches. And, of course, she isn't responding to any of my texts because she's at a fucking anime convention. I'll change their food, and I'll fill their water, but I didn't buy myself four god damn rats. I've already had to change their fucking cage stuff twice. God fucking damn it, when she gets back from that con she needs to start completely cleaning their cage once a week or they need to go somewhere else.
I can already see a post, tomorrow, in the Anti-Peeve thread.
"AP: Owning a snake."
or
"AP: Borrowing a friend's snake for a week."

I totally agree, I'm still pissed about the "One more day" storyline where they retconned Spidey's marriage out of existence.  Because returning to a fotry year old statsu quo was the way to go?  You keep telling yourself that...

It wasn't a forty year status quo though. Peter was married for 20 years, and spent 25 years prior to that unmarried. He spend the better half of his life married and it was ruined because some guy in editorial thinks the stories were better when Peter was single. Never mind that Aunt May had died in two previous stories and both of them were well received until Marvel copped out and brought her back in some weird way.

Log give me a link to your blog I need to read more of your work.
^ What he said ^

PP: Comic books. Marvel and DC (or some of their writers/editorial) have been pissing me off for the past few years, with their need to have some status quo with characters. C'mon guys; Development is usually good, and if it isn't received as well you'd like don't kneejerk them back. Wait some time, let people grow accustomed to the notion and then bring the character to the forefront somewhere and let them grow.

PP: Toxin bot being Pat.
PP: Eddie not being Anti-Venom.
PP: Cloud 9 not being shown as a happy civilian or hardcore Super sniper.

Forgive me padre for I have sinned.

Under the Cork Tree- Fall Out Boy
"My songs know what you did in the Dark" is so damn catchy. FOB isn't bad, and they make good catchy songs.

Woodkid, the Golden Age album. It's lovely.

PP: My inability to make a generic character for anything, ever. Don't get me wrong, they are all tropelicious and tend to be quiet and/or angsty but it's never simple. I develop every character a bit much, even the one-shots.

It's been a while since I've been literally cross eyed drunk.  Did your face go numb to?  When I'm cross eyed drunk and have numb face is when I cut myself off.
I cut myself off around the one-eye reading. I don't get crosseyed so much as my nonprimary eye has trouble focusing. It might have something to do with the fact that I have old glasses and my eyes are now two different prescriptions. Once, when I was really drunk, my left eye went last. I could see 270 degrees! It was great until it made me sick(er). Never drinking a pint-glass of Alabama Slammer in under twelves seconds again. Or ever again.

Dollhouse was amazing! I loved that show so much. At least they do manage to wrap it up fairly well at the end of season 2.

I just started watching Leverage today and I love it so far. Parker has to be my favorite character.

Leverage is one of my favorite shows. Parker is the best. The whole crew is adorable and fun in their own ways, but Parker is hilarious and naive and adorkable.

DollHouse. The first few episodes were so good they should have warranted another season. I'm more than 3/4 of the way through it and I'm loving it.
I also watched Flash Point ("Dou fo sin") and Lockout. Both were better than expected.

Beat XCOM:Enemy Unknown, finally. Longbow, my lead sniper, was the psychic soldier who had high enough will to use the machine to find the Ethereal's mother-ship. Spoiler Alpha's details because I doubt everyone wants to read about them, and there is a lot there. I love these bastards, so I just had to get some of this off of my chest somewhere and this is the place.

(click to show/hide)

Needless to say it was really pleasant to see all of my original Alpha team survive, with ease for the most part.
