I wish I could laugh at that, but I just get angry at the failings of society and parents.

PP: I'm overdrawn. For the first time in my life, I'm overdrawn. And my mom--for whatever reason--wouldn't let me get overdraft protection, so I'm sunk.

All because she asked me to buy some cheese last night. I wrote a check for $35 when I had $37 in my account. I made a ten dollar transaction to buy cheese. That left me with $27. That same night, the money came out of my account for that check.

No, but that sounds plausible. Robert Pattinson is a good actor. (Of course, I'm looking at Harry Potter)

But 3,000 little girls had a mall shut down over what was supposed to be a Justin Bieber appearance.

I don't blame the artists themselves. I blame the parents and--most of all--the kids themselves.
Have you ever heard of a bunch of teenage boys having anything shut down over a girl? No. It's time these teenage girls got their emotions in check.

1804  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: What did we learn today? (Apart from that australian wine rocks.) on: November 21, 2009, 03:28:51 pm
Yeah, I get that. Anyone can take off. It's not that hard.
Landing, however...

I mean, if I had to land an airplane, I could do it. I turned crash tolerance on hard and I survived, which means the plane wasn't wrecked. But it wasn't pretty.

TIL that my aviation instructor LIED TO ME!

He said landing was one of the easiest assignments. He said steep turns was difficult. He said when you land a Cessna 172, you shouldn't even have to touch the yoke, just adjust the trim and steer using the rudders.

Bah! When I hit that runway at a rate of descent of about 300 feet per minute at 50 knots, I bounced like a rubber ball. Obviously, I didn't do it right. I just can't seem to land that bird without going BOING!

Those struts can't handle the stress! We're going to CRAAAAASH!

Of course, it made me feel better when he--a pilot with over 35 years of experience--rolled a Cessna on landing at an airport in Colorado. Like, didn't just twist it a little. He rolled that motherfucker over on its wings.

Then again, he was only steering with rudder and adjusting pitch with the trim tab, and the airport was at an elevation of like 9,000 feet.
1806  General Discussion / Random Stuff / Re: ADMIT IT! (Part dos/deux/two/2/doo) on: November 20, 2009, 09:24:54 pm
I admit that I am very excited about being able to drive my dad's truck to work tomorrow.
Instead of rolling up in my less-than-impressive '96 Toyota Corolla, I'll be ballin' in my dad's '06 Chevy Avalanche.

I also admit that I am only excited about it because I think it'll impress the girl I'm working with tomorrow morning. Because I'm totally gonna tell her it's mine, then play it off that it got stolen when my dad comes to get it after getting the oil in my car changed.

VROOM VROOM!

EDIT: I admit that now I'm really pissed off because my dad told me he's not going to let me take his truck, and that I have to take my own car, which desperately needs an oil change.

Pssh, Ultimate Frisbee is where it's at.

I'd like to play Frisbee golf, but I don't know anywhere near me that I could. Plenty of REAL golf courses, just no Frisbee golf.

PP: This girl in my ROTC class (a freshman) who likes me and therefore expects me to do everything she says. We were playing football today and she was constantly bitching because I wouldn't throw it to her. I wouldn't throw it to her because A) she was too far away and B) always in the middle of coverage.

And her friend keeps getting all over my back about not liking her in return. Like, what the fuck? Just because someone likes me, I'm supposed to feel the same? HELL no. I used to think the freshman that likes me was cool, but now she's just irritating. She acts like a fifth grader does when they like someone--calling them names, hitting them, et cetera, and the immaturity is really pissing me off. I'm about to tell her to fuck off.

AP: Federal court accepts challenge of California's Proposition 8. I hope those narrow-minded Cali legislators get what's coming to them--a fat repealing of Prop 8.

And I choose F: None of the above, because I have a car and a job that puts gas in my car.

AP: Having a car and a job that puts gas in my car.

AP #2: This kid in the 4th grade class I intern for. He's a crazy son of a bitch. Whenever I'm getting on to him about goofing off too much, he gets this stupid look on his face and I just can't go on with whatever I was saying because I'm laughing too hard.

This morning I was getting on to him and his friend for play-shooting each other with pens. I was getting on to them for not paying attention when he got that stupid look and "shot" me and his friend both. I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to lose my internship.

Anything I can do to help.
Besides, there are more details behind it, I just pointed out what was easiest to type out.
