"Major Cobalt returns from a successful hunting trip. The target: the rare but prized awesome-o-saurus."

AP: Chuckling at those who have to use public transport.

AP: That

AP #2: Being right. All. The. Time.

AP #3: Realizing that I practically have a date for prom already. One girl I know who goes to school a county over has already told me she wants to go to my school's prom. I am the only person at my school she knows... THEREFORE...

PP: The following Facebook conversation:

You: "hey"
Me: "Hey."
You: "whats up"
Me: "Nothing."

After a few seconds.

You: "u there"
Me: "Yeah"

A few more seconds.

You: "u still there"
Me: "Yes, still here"

What I want to say: YES, I AM STILL FUCKING HERE. JUST LIKE I WAS THE FIRST TIME, AND IN EVERY OTHER CONVERSATION WE'VE EVER HAD. I JUST DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY.

For fuck's sake. If someone doesn't respond IRL, do you go, "Hey, dude, you there?" No! Then don't do it online!

I guess hating the French depends on your reasoning. If you hate them just for being French, then yeah, that's whatever. If you hate them for a legit reason--like what those fuckers did at the beginning of the war on terrorism--then whatever.

It's like an American saying they hate the British because they are rude, pretentious, and total douchebags to tourists, versus hating them because the Germans nearly beat them in WWII.

PP: Irony. Painful, painful irony.

I have a friend who knows a girl that is a biology major, but doesn't believe half the shit she's taught because she's a hard-nosed fundamentalist Christian. She says it's all fake because the Bible is right about creation, and that evolution is crap, among other things.

Oooh, I see. So you can call science--based on hard facts, research, and experimentation--false, yet your beliefs are based on a centuries-old text that has inspired more wars, hatred, and murder than any other in human history?

I mean, I'm a Christian and all, but I can't see calling science bullshit when it's proven. I believe in God and Jesus because of what I've experience in my life, not because a man in a robe reading from a book told me to.

I think most of the time the female characters are MORE cliche than the males. Guys are pretty dynamic throughout games. In one genre, sure, they may be all the same.

But women? It seems like in 99% of video games, the females are the character in distress, or the ultra hottie with a gun.

PP: I forgot what my PP was...

Oh, wait, I remember.

PP #2: Drama at work. It's more of an irritation than something that gets in the way, but it's still annoying. This girl I work with is dating a total douche. Said douche has been an even bigger one since I started working there. He has serious trust issues. Anyway, they got in an argument last night and he said he was going to hit me.

Let me clarify that I have ZERO interest in this girl.

Now, this guy's scrawny. I'm not. I'm 6'1, about 190 pounds, and her boyfriend is about 5'9 and 120 pounds soaking wet. But I'm not going to lose my job because of a grown man (he's 20, I'm 17) acting like a 7th grader. But if he so much as takes a swing at me, I'm calling the cops.

AP: One of the girls at work said I was a great listener, and it wasn't me she said it to.

However, related PP: She thought that, because I was a good listener, I was gay. I'm not offended by that, but how bad is it that when a guy is raised to help people with their problems and not just go 'lol boobs,' it's assumed that he's gay? Is the male gender that deep in the hole?

AP: My dad. I went to get gas an accidentally locked my keys in my car. I called my dad to bring me another key and, instead of being all pissed off and agitated, he just laughed. When he got to the gas station, he looked at me, handed me the keys, said "Shit happens," and drove off.

What's wrong being a mixed race? I'm a mixed race and I don't have any problems with it. Reword your sentence about that. It's not torturous. It's just something you GET OVER. My family gets along just fine because we are mixed. It's not a BAD thing as it sounds like you've put it.

Okay, maybe it's regional differences, I don't know. But I've seen several mixed-race children who were accepted by nobody, and it only got worse as we got older.
I played soccer with a girl a long time back who was mixed race. Her dad was black and her mom was white. She was a perfectly nice girl, as were both of her parents (her dad was a US Army Ranger). But in the bigoted, stereotypical, IGNORANT place I lived, (or almost any southern town, for that matter) she wasn't accepted, nor were her parents.

Let me remind you that I've lived in Georgia my entire life. You want me to rephrase MY statement? How about you rephrase yours and take out the accusatory tone. I DON'T have a problem with it, but too many people where I live DO.
1827  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: PP: Not having a Pet Peeves thread. on: November 12, 2009, 04:53:08 pm
I hate racism. Some of my best friends are black. The girl I am hopefully going to be dating soon isn't white either.

God, if I dated a girl who wasn't white, my parents would flip a shit. They're not racist, but they're vehemently opposed to interracial relationships.

I don't get it. What's wrong with it? I personally wouldn't because I wouldn't want to put my children through the torture of being a mixed race. But if someone else is willing to, why stop them?

PP: Girl I like doesn't like me back.

Ouch.

Suddenly, the sky was just a little darker and the birds weren't singing quite as loudly. In fact, I think I heard some gunshots followed by "SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

Life sucks now.
