PP: Shitty-ass drivers

So this morning I was driving to school. This was the situation. (I have prepared a series of images for your viewing pleasure.)

I was trying to make a left turn.

As was the person in front of me.
Person in front of me was actually in the middle of the intersection so no one (read: me) could make a left turn coming from the other direction. Note dumbfuck behind left turner. If you have not already figured it out, you will soon know why this person is called as such.

Without realizing (or even looking, I would imagine) dumbfuck attempts to go around (straight) left turner just as left turner and I make our turns. All the while the light is turning yellow. It is too late to abort the turn for left turner, dumbfuck, and I are already smack dab in the middle of the intersection.

Narrowly avoiding a collision with dumbfuck, which would have jammed in the absolute busiest intersection in town, I swerve back to the right to get in my lane, but not before someone coming from the road I am attempting to turn on has emerged from a coma, guns the engine, and nearly slams into my front.

Now, I'm not sure whose fault this is. Some of you may say mine, some may say left turner's, and some say dumbfucks. But criminal analysis reports from Atlanta have shown that if dumbfuck had not attempted to go around on left turner's right side as left turner was making a left turn, left turner and I would have easily made our left turns before the light turned yellow, and this all would have been avoided.

Also, I was going back to school after lunch when I went to make a right turn. Some asshole in a Mercedes flies around me on the LEFT as I am trying to make a turn. Impatient asshole, much? I gave her the finger and went on my merry way.

When I got to the school after lunch, I turned in a parking place. My first thought was, "Hmm, my car grew. Hey, wait a minute." It had not grown; my parking spot had shrunk. Some asshole in a punk little Infiniti sports car had managed to take up 99% of his parking spot's allotted space, as well as abut 15% of mine. I was parked dangerously close to a girl in an F-150. After my car was already parked and turned off, I had to crank it back up, pull out, and adjust so she would not only NOT hit my passenger side door, but so she could get out.

And as the final pissy stunt of the day, I got to the main campus and some dumbfuck jumped in front of me, as if I was in a mood to be messed around with. My heart stopped for a second because as soon as he jumped, I hit a plastic cup or something and I thought I actually hit him.

All in all, a pretty shitty day in terms of driving.

PP: What is sticky as syrup, moves are over 9000 miles per hour, and makes me feel uncomfortable as hell? The situation I'm in with this girl. Fuck.

I went out to a church thing with her last night. It's called Judgment Journey and it's sort of... intense, I guess is the right word. Anyway, she was holding on to me the whole time. On the car ride home, she took that as a sign that it was okay to start touching me, which was not.

And I don't have the stones to tell her to back off (which I know will bite me on the ass if I don't make that clear soon) so it went on the whole car ride home. I just thank God and her church's pastor that he made the ride gender separated or else it might have gone farther than that.

I don't like her like that. There's a list of girls that I have listed as priority (not a real list, of course) and she's not even on that. I don't know how to tell her without hurting her feelings. Of course, my friend who set me up with her in the first place is telling me that I have to do what must be done or else it'll end badly for all of us--me, my friend, her, and her friend, who is my friend's girlfriend.

I lol'd, TZ

PP: Auburn lost. Didn't just lose, got AN ASS-WHOOPIN'

PP #2: Jumping to conclusions, which is what I did. I thought my friend gave my phone number to his girlfriend just for no reason, but I found out he gave it to her so she could call me about something we're all doing tonight; she just abused the privilege. I didn't say anything to him, which is a good thing, but I still feel like a douche now.

AP: My job, specifically my coworkers and my boss.

I really like one of the girls I work with, but about a month and a half ago I found out that she got a boyfriend, much to my disappointment. However, she told me today that she's becoming unhappy because the guy she is dating isn't what she thought he was. Specifically, he's all into PDA, nicknames like 'baby' and 'sweetie,' he's all serious and stuff, and he ALWAYS wants to be around her--which is everything I'm not.

She said she either doesn't want a relationship her senior year, or one that isn't all serious, which is exactly how I feel, too.

As a bonus, she thinks I'm funny. And not in that "haha, you're a dork" kind of funny. That legit, comedian type of funny.

Bonus Question #2: We can relate to each other because we're in sticky situations with people of the opposite gender.

As for my boss, she's just really cool. I work at a dry cleaners. When she came in, there was a loose shirt on the floor, which is enough to make us all go "OH SHIT!" She found it and was like, "Uh oh..." But luckily it had an old tag on it. She was cool about it, rather than lecturing us about 'taking better care of clothes.'

PP: My friend giving my phone number to girls that I'm not interested in. ESPECIALLY those who get offended and take it personally etc etc when I don't respond.

There are very few people who, if they text me, I will respond to immediately. It is a very exclusive list that even my parents are not on. And these girls don't understand that.

AP: Just got invited to be a staff member for the camp I was at last year. I was sort of worried because I was afraid they thought I was a slacker and I wouldn't get invited, but I did.

However, my PP is that the crazy lady who made me want to kill myself was ALSO invited back. But I'll be better prepared next summer.

If I calculated it right (which I did), to complete NaNoWriMo in the allotted time, assuming the author writes every day, there must be a MINIMUM of 1,667 words written per day. That's not that much more than what you said.

I don't see how participation in NaNoWriMo makes things 'less serious.' To me, that sounds snobbish, like saying "I'm on a higher pedestal than you because I'm a REAL writer, therefore I will not subject my talents to such childishness."

I may not be majoring in English--or planning on it--but that doesn't make me, or any other NaNoWriMo participant, a 'fake writer,' which is what I'm getting out of your statements. No one expects our finished results to be New York Times Best Seller material.

As for endurance, I'd say NaNoWriMo takes it seriously. You've got to have it to not burn out halfway through.

PP: People who hate NaNoWriMo, for whatever reason. Why can't you just let us have our fun?

AP: My math test. I made a 70, but the following made it all worth it.

I had like three questions that I had no clue how to do. So I scribbled on it in a little circle, smudged it with water, and wrote this:

"I went to do this problem when something dripped on my paper. The only logical explanation was that my brain was leaking, so to avoid further damage, I aborted the question and turned in my test, leaving several problems unanswered. However, I think that, judging by the quality of the questions I did do, you will see that I have sufficiently mastered this subject and will give me full credit for the unanswered questions.
P.S. With your health and safety in mind, I scribbled over the brain matter with pencil but trust me, it was there."

I got full credit for that question! Fucking WIN! As my dad says, if you can't win 'em with brilliance, win 'em with bullshit.

AP #2: I got our entire drill team to start singing Flo Rida's "Get Low" at the end of drill practice, which irritated Sarge, but Colonel thought was funny.

AP #3: NaNoWriMo starts in T-minus 26 days. Preparations have begun.

Them dear major, it's time for you to move up a step and start using torrents. Seriously, stay away from Limewire, it's crap, and there are better alternatives. I think. Haven't used those programs in ages, because i don't need them Grin

I tried using torrents, but I fail. Sure, I had a good amount of music from torrents, but I accidentally the setup and it would take two weeks to download stuff.
1934  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: What did we learn today? (Apart from that australian wine rocks.) on: October 04, 2009, 12:43:35 pm
I learned today that I have a career in telemarketing if my teaching career fails. Yesterday, actually.

We were making prank calls on the bus when we were coming back from our drill meet. I woke up in the middle of it because I was distracted by their shitty-ass calls. So I grabbed the number of a bald kid and called him. He's a good sport about it (he doesn't have cancer or anything, he just doesn't grow any hair anywhere) so we thought it would be funny.

"Hello, this is Robert [not my real name, obviously] from Boseley Hair Care Products calling to confirm an order for [insert name here]. We call to confirm such large orders to avoid confusion so if you could please call us back at 1-800-BOSELEY so we can ship your order as soon as possible."

One of the guys said, "Dude, you have the PERFECT telemarketer's voice!"

It's a comforting thought, I guess. But for the next few days I'm answering unknown numbers with "Thank you for calling Boseley Hair Care Products, this is Robert."

AP: Auburn's in and Georgia's out. Of the AP Top 25, that is. Auburn's ranked 17th at 5-0, and the Bulldogs are 3-2 and NOT RANKED! HAHAHA! I can't wait for school tomorrow. Georgia fans are, by far, the cockiest I've ever met, and any weekend they lose--especially one when Auburn wins and ESPECIALLY especially in a season when Auburn is undefeated and Georgia's not--is a great weekend.
