No no no......don't get me wrong, I love brain-dead slasher films, particularly on a Friday night accompanied by booze. But no, while Cabin in the Woods is partly a slasher film, but it's also
about slasher films and particularly why most horror films are made to a different formula around the world. Trust me it's worth watching.
It also has in it characters which are a homage to creatures from at least 100 classic horrors (I assume as close as they could make them without being sued). There are probably more, but it will require a DVD and a pause button to spot them all. I did particularly like Fornicus, Lord of Bondage and Pain (see below).
