Thanks guys! The image is originally from a photo I took when I went on a hike to an abandoned prison Smiley

I KNEW that looked familiar! Those "urban decay" photos are strikingly beautiful, though somewhat saddening when you think that at one point people lived there (even if it was a prison). I can't wait to see how this new chapter plays out!

No one noticed how Sammie said "people to shoot"?

Technically aren't the zombies just reanimated people?

Oh no, this is the basic immigration 'run around.' Average time it takes for spouses to immigrate into the US (to get the I-130 visa which is the Green Card via getting married) is approximately 2-3 years.

Needless to say the immigration system is quite broken.

Take a page from your neighbors two steps south and just jump the fence. Nobody'd notice.

Nobody died! Aww man!

Fix'd that for ya. Here we all were predicting that there would be an epic fight, Mrs. W would get her skull punched in by Charlie, and the world would be a slightly safer place. Instead Jenny goes all "we can talk it out" on us!

Naw, I keed. If someone died, it'd probably get blamed on Charlie, and he'd be executed and...well I digress. Maybe she feels guilty and will go find a Mercy? I dunno, I should probably stop typing now.

Question to Jenny, do you ever get ideas for story directions from the forums? (apologies in advance if this has already been asked)

I still wanna see Katie perform the inevitable beatdown. Them Irish are feisty critters.

Actually, Katie had a pistol and could have shot the basilisk while its eyes were on Jameson; here you can see Katie pretty much leaning against a wall after Milo has the rope, and she's just listening in on Milo's conversation, so she had the time to watch him too. Also, while I remembered Jameson getting surrounded on that little shed, I didn't remember that apparently that was the first time Katie had left him.

It's interesting to see that early in the timeline Katie is mostly independent and expects others around her (mostly Jameson) to also be as such, but as the timeline progesses she becomes more dependent on her teammates.

What I'm thinking, is that Jameson's mom read the report that she left him on the dumpster, and assumed that when he fell through the hole, she and milo left him for dead.

If you notice, his pistol landed about 10 feet from where he did, so he crawled over to get it. In the scene right before he kills the mercy, you can see the hole he fell through framing the mercy's head, showing how far he moved. Since the basilisk came from behind him, it's unclear if Katie could have seen the basilisk or even heard any indication he was in trouble before it was too late, regardless of if she could have got a clean angle on it. Now as to why she wasn't keeping an eye on him, I think she thought "the guy broke his leg, he ain't going anywhere fast".

That's just my 2.

Well, I just reread the James story, and Katie leaving him behind had nothing to do with his death. Fatty James stepped on a rat, freaked, and fell through a perfectly good floor. Katie gave Milo the rope, and while they were getting prepared, he got nommed. There was maybe 2 minutes between the fall and his death. There was nothing they could do, short of jumping down there themselves (or teach James to not be such a scaredy cat...). Yeah, it sucks what happened to James, but this is the Zombie Apocalypse lady, shit happens.

My Prediction: Sammy's gonna go berserk, and Mad Mommy is gonna be missing at least one tooth.
Alt Prediction: Katie grows a pair and tells it like it is and leaves, leaving both Mad Mommy and Sammy in stunned silence.

Wait, where do they get Cola and Cocoa?
I can understand alcohol since it probably lasts longer, but Cola? At the very least enough Cola for it to be sold like some commodity. How does that work?
And Especially the Cocoa.

It could be that there is a large, but finite supply of cola and cocoa (i.e. the Albatross made a run fully loaded with stuff like that), similar to the Earth's fossil fuels. There's a lot of em, but eventually, they'll run out. So for now, you can get a Jack and Coke and a small cocoa for $3.50 but eventually, down the road, commodities will become more scarce and more expensive and more dangerous to retrieve (a possible reason for the Forward Outpost?).
