Syn- if you can find a competent one in your area, maybe see if you can go to a chiropractor to have him work over your wrists? The swelling *may* be manageable by making sure your wrists are adjusted*.

If the surgery that's done now is similar to the kind our friend had done, it's irreversible, and has some side effects for what he can do with his hands, like strength when manipulating things at certain angles. Though that might be less of an issue for you depending on what you do- for him this is largely limited to fatigue when doing a lot of constant mouse-clicking, and loss of leverage when doing car work from some positions.

I just mention this because Jenny sometimes gets similar symptoms, but so far hers can be managed by visits to the chiropractor and the occasional wrist tape.

*an adjustment is basically just making sure all the bones are lined up in the correct spots. If you've ever cracked your knuckles or popped your back, that's what that is. There're a surprisingly large number of ways your bits and pieces can come out of joint without you necessarily noticing.

I think this may be more of my nerves being suffocated by inflammation, but I'm going to see an orthopedic doc tomorrow, so maybe he might have some advice, like, "no, don't go under the knife yet!" I also have an appointment in a month with a neurologist to test how much of my nerves are dying to see if I'm a candidate for the surgery.

I just don't like the fact that this will be chronic. This bout was set off by helping to lift the side of a riding lawnmower, and if lifting heavy things sets it off, it really limits what kind of jobs I can apply for.

PP: I've been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, and I can't really reach any other goals in life until i get this crap taken taken care of, which would most likely result in surgery on both wrists because. Sure, the swelling might go down after awhile again, but it'll just happen again and again if I'm not careful and because I may have inherited my mom's narrow carpal tunnel.

This also means NO GAMES. Cry

related AP: two specialty doc appointments in the week after next, and I'll figure out what to do.

PP: I made a health-meter bookmark for an internet friend, and all I requested in return is a stamp. A single stamp in which to put on the envelope containing the bookmark. Even though I've reminded him nicely multiple times, he hasn't sent me anything. He seems to still want it, yet it's been over a year. Deadline time. >:{

Related PP: I seem to be an easily forgettable person.

PP: my wrists are messed up again. All because my step-grandfather ran over some cloth mesh with his riding lawnmower, and I had to help push it and lift it so my brother could cut the mesh free from the blades. I almost feel disabled- can't play games, drive, do dishes, etc, without feeling sore or a tingly sensation.

Molly has only been talked about but never seen (except in a picture in Arthur's office), right?

PP: there's a fox in our neighborhood that wants to make a meal out of one or more of our chickens. It seems to only comes around early morning or when it starts getting dark, but not very often, fortunately. Today, we would have lost one if my parents weren't already outside and came running when our oldest hen sounded the alarm. We do have a live trap, but they're afraid to use it and bait it because a skunk might find delight in an unfrozen piece of raw (store-bought!) chicken for dinner.

PP2: my OCD is acting up again. Where's the freaking off button?!

Lol, I wish I had thought of that.

I wish i could speak chicken... especially after the time a cut out a few burrs and dried crap from the fluff of one of my hen's butts. After she was set down, she took off and started ranting and raving to our oldest hen, and she's usually quiet. Then again, maybe i don't want to speak chicken; she probably was swearing up a storm about me.

It's pretty dope. They'll send us non-selling items from the full retail stores that's pretty deeply discounted. Then employees get an extra 75% off, THEN our regular 30% employee discount. Thus, $300 shirt I paid $3.78 for.

AP: This week was long as fuck, but my next check is gonna be ridiculous. 72 hours, about ten of which are time and a half.
dude! Where do you work?! That discount is just insane. I need to get me some clothes that don't look like I got them from Wal-Mart or Savers or Goodwill.

I'm surprised you haven't been too maimed yet, but I suppose it's still early. Mind if I take your toenails for a necklace I'm working on? Thanks!
