Led a five-headed hydra from the first floor of the Lair to the dungeon in Stone Soup. I have a fire bow, but the fiend is immune to poison and need to see if Mephitic Cloud can actually confuse him without getting in melee range.
Any creature immune to poison is not affected by Mephitic Cloud or by evaporation of a Confusion Potion. But it can still be confused by spells like Confusing Touch (but you have to be on close combat), Mass Confusion or unreliable stuff like the Staff of Chaos or Wand of Random Effects (but you shouldn't rely on that though).

On topic, did a few plays of Stone Soup without any good results exept as a Sludge Elf Necromancer (my favorite combination so far) who got owned by the combo Hill Giant with nets (Really vicious) : one showed up at almost melee range, got me in his nets and I couldn't do anything.

Do the gods in this get moody like they do in Ivan? I'm so hesitant to berserk with my minotaur because I don't want my god to just go "how about fuck you." and spawn an angel which proceeds to kill me.
The easiest to piss off are the "good" gods : Eilvilon (healer god), The Shining One and Zin. The others are hard to piss off if I recall well (some cannot be I think).

So, fucking Amulet of the Gourmand. It lets me eat raw food and not get sick.

Fuck yeah.
With it you can also eat when not hungry.

Ain't that the truth. Not being able to move fast enough for poison to work it's mojo was what killed me off. And had bad luck in melee without a weapon, but definitely a combo I want to try again.
They have an additional attack (poison spit) which is non-negligible... but come on... 1 AC at level 1 Huh? Even a rat can own you in a few turns... but once you get mephitic cloud things get a lot easier, even if the movement speed and the mutation "Deformed Body" are truly annoying.

42481 Bane the Basher (level 13, 113/113 HPs)
Began as a Minotaur Berserker on June 20, 2011.
Was a High Priest of Trog.
             Forgot to breathe
... caused by an orange crystal statue
... on Level 13 of the Dungeon.
The game lasted 03:53:31 (26706 turns).
Manly tears were shed, I suppose ^^

Played a bit of Stone Soup several times as a Naga Venom Mage. From what I recalled, it was a very good combination. I got owned beyond all recognition in the early levels...

And Septerra Core, I have absolutely no clue on what to do next...

Yeah guys, Stone Soup is full of win !!! (and full of horrible things that want you to die in the most gruesome ways)

HK, the Elven Halls are of a much higher level than the Orcish Mines, you can access them later. Deep Elves rely heavily on magic, so a MR (Magic Resistance) boost is advised.

First scroll on the first floor. Curses my splint mail. I mean, it's still the best thing I've found so far, but damn it. And now I'm dead from a potion of poison. Worst death.
When you learn something in Stone Soup, you always learn it the hard way ^^

Holy crap, I loved that game.  I haven't even thought about in years.  I never did beat it though.  The great hard drive crash of 98 killed it for me and I never restarted.
Septerra Core is much longer than i thought, it's truly exellent.

On topic, my Kobold Artificer died horribly at the hands of a fire demon thing summoned by an Orc Demonologist.

Very poor physical condition. That's why I have always slower friends around who, if someone has to go, will go first ^^

Especially with seasoned players, the GM should have consulted every member of your gaming group regarding the character they wanted to take, the GM's job is to make the gaming session enjoyable for everyone, he should not tell you which character to take for the sake of his own story...

PP : I'm very likely to have failed this semester... I'm very angry against myself for messing up all this...

Septerra Core, I had this game when I was a child but I couldn't even get past the beginning since it was in english... anyways, fun game.
The only downside is that sometimes the hints are killing the challenge and sometimes you have to figure far-fetched things (especially side quests in which you gain... nothing >.<)

Quote from: The Outsider, from H.P Lovecraft
So through endless twilights I dreamed and waited, though I knew not what I waited for. Then in the shadowy solitude my longing for light grew so frantic that I could rest no more, and I lifted entreating hands to the single black ruined tower that reached above the forest into the unknown outer sky. And at last I resolved to scale that tower, fall though I might; since it were better to glimpse the sky and perish, than to live without ever beholding day.
