1  General Discussion / Movies/TV Discussion / Re: Latest Movie You've Seen on: March 15, 2014, 11:58:50 pm
almost every movie from the 60s-70s era are like this. I don't see the problem with it. it puts nice pacing into the movies, not everything has to be fast moving, which is what the point of great escape was. They sat there and waited until everything was near perfect, and you as the audience sat there with them. If everyone can sit through an action packed movie today that's the same film length, then everyone can sit through a movie with [gasp] dialogue.

speaking of, one of my favorite scenes in Great Escape is when they're leaving the bunny hole and a German officer is standing RIGHT THERE with a german shepherd. This was based on an actual account from one of the escapees and they said that they were so close to the guy, they could smell the leather on his boots, pretty fucking amazing and heart racing right there.

I went and watched Julius Caesar. The one with Charlton Heston as Marc Antony. Mostly because of today.

Sorry to hear about the rest of your PP's (the bereavement one is extreme BS) but I have to argue with the Steam sale one, this has been one of the best sales in a while and a lot of the stuff I've picked up has been 75%-90% off which is awesome.  Unless you mean the drain on your bank account because of the Steam sale is a PP in which case I totally get that.   Grin

Yeah, work has been in the shitter these past few weeks. And yes, I was talking about how it is draining my damn bank account. UUUUGH.

PP: I'm trying to get one of my PS3 controllers to be compatible with my laptop and it isn't working and I am a sad panda. I might have to forfeit some moola and go get a used 360 controller. god damn it.

PP: I got called in to work Xmas Eve. Which was my day off. No holiday pay.
PP: I worked 12 hour shifts for a span of 2 1/2 weeks. sometimes 14
PP: Paycheck is all wrong because of this
PP: My job refuses to acknowledge that my grandmother has passed away and I am entitled to three days bereavement pay because of this
PP: So, they won't let me fly to her service [tough shit, I bought the plan ticket, if there's a problem all hell is going to be let loose]
PP: FUCKING STEAM SALE.

When I worked at Dominos as the manager, I had the right to refuse service because we were closed. Mainly because I turned off the ovens and they are a pain in the ass for them to heat back up. [20-30 minutes to heat up] The best calls were on Saturday nights [when we closed at 1 am] and people calling at 1.30 asking for food and I go: I'm sorry, we're closed? and then they get angry asking why I answered the phone. Uhm... because I'm closing my store? I have many stories like this, but that was the best part of working for Corporate dominos. The right to refuse service. heheh.

PP: My student loans went up. Like. way up. So I might have to defer so you know, I can eat this month.

I remember a bunch of dudebros got so mad when they traded in a bunch of madden games and got like .25 cents for them. that was fantastic.

PP: i have to work early tomorrow and i haven't slept yet.
15  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: PP: Not having a Pet Peeves thread. on: November 09, 2013, 06:10:09 pm
No? I never said I was surprised, I said I was pissed.

I used to remember the "logic" behind how they figured out the pricing for the games, but i forgot it as soon as i left the store. Boss basically compared trading the video game to like a car or some shit like that. It was ... god that job was horrible, hahahahahaha
