There is a pretty nasty stomach bug going around the Triangle area here in NC. Feel better soon, Jenny!

PP: I've missed every Pathfinder session I've been invited to this month because of work.

PP2: Best friend is in jail. Idiot.

Congrats on the new job, Stan! Haha, my AP is slightly related in that...

AP: Soon, I will no longer be a dishwasher! The boss is looking for new dishwashers, and once he gets someone in to take my place, I'm getting promoted. I've also gotten a dollar raise, starting immediately, which is pretty awesome.

Work your ass off, Stan. Learn how the restaurant prepares their food, make your coworkers and managers think you're awesome, and keep a good attitude. Dishwashing can be pretty shitty work, but if you make it your bitch, chances are, it'll pay off in the long run.

Dead Island was...not that great. At least in my opinion.

Dark Souls, on the other hand...I'm at the point where I've just obtained the Lordvessel, and I've had to take a break. No videogame has ever brought me this much rage and frustration. The thing is, I KNOW I can conquer everything the game throws at me, it just requires a LOT of patience and determination, and sometimes my nerves just can't take it xD Totally with you on the feeling of accomplishment, TLO. Since I don't play online, I had to solo Ornstein and Smough with no help other than Solaire (JOLLY COOPERATION.) After dying more times than I care to remember, I finally figured out a strategy that consisted of dodging, having perfect timing, standing up during the entire battle, and screaming obscenities at my tv. After I took them down, I celebrated by screaming "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH, SUCK MAH DICK" and crotchchopping so hard that I may have bruised my pelvis xD

TLO, what's your build? I'm rocking a Pyromancer who uses dex-based weapons. Quelaag's Furysword, son.

PP: So, um, after examining how I handle stress and the way I freaked the fuck out just because I was late to work, I think I might need to look into anti-anxiety medication. I think if someone gave me one of those stress balls or something, I'd beat them to death with it.

American Gods was a fantastic book. Wish I still had my old copy, but I ended up giving it to the guy who'd suggested it to me in the first place so he could re-read it.

Not sure if comics count, but I've gone ahead and re-read all of Joe Hill's Locke and Key. Hands down, one of the best comics I've ever read. Five issues to be released, and it's kind of a bittersweet feeling. While I simply cannot wait for the conclusion, I just don't want it to be over so soon.

More comics I've been reading lately:

-Crossed. I've read every arc but Psychopath, and I don't know why I keep coming back. It's sick, disturbing, and really not all that great, but...I guess it's that morbid curiosity. I will say, the webcomic, Wish You Were Here, has been pretty good though.

-The Walking Dead...unpopular opinion time, but I think the series is kind of living up to its name. I kinda want someone to go ahead and put it out of its misery. The comic is barely appealing anymore and the show pretty much lost me after season two. I still catch up on it from time to time, but eh. Telltale Games' version of the series reigns supreme.

-House of Mystery. Interesting enough. It's supposed to play out as an anthology series with a larger, more important story arc going on outside of the tales. Started to go downhill toward the end, though. But there were dinosaurs and vampire cats. And a ninja gorilla. In space.

-Revival. Only six issues so far, but it's pretty good. An interesting take on the whole dead rising again thing.

Protip: go to every restaurant near you--literally all of them--and apply for a job as a dishwasher. Trust me when I say that, for the most part, most dishwashers don't last long at all. So if they're not looking for one at the moment you apply, they'll be looking for one in the near future.
The place I worked at last fall had four diswashers, me and three other guys. Two got fired, and the only reason they didn't fire a third was because he was a roommate/close friend of the kitchen manager.
Being a dishwasher is barely a step up from being unemployed, but it's something, and many places pay them better than minimum wage because it's such a rough job. And if you're not a shithead, the rest of the kitchen staff will like you because the kitchen staff appreciates and understands the kind of shitty job a dishwasher has. In addition, you could eventually become a cook if you pay attention to what goes on in the kitchen, or a server if you prove you have the personality and work ethic, and both of those jobs pay a good bit better. Hell, even if you just move up to busser it's an improvement because in a lot of places servers have to giver a certain percentage of tips with the bus boys. At the restaurant I worked at, bus boys could go home with $500 on the busiest nights.

This, only being a dishwasher is only bad depending on where you work. I do dish for an upscale catering company and a cafe owned by the same company, and make a few bucks more than minimum wage at either. And a good attitude will really take you a long way. I went in with no experience, but I worked my ass off and was friendly to everyone. Now they love the shit out of me, I prep food, and I get to help out at events doing more than just dish.

But yes, it's not terribly difficult work. It just kind of sucks. But like Cobalt said, don't be a shithead. And aim to be better than the ones before you. It helps.

PP: Out of my friends where I live now, I'm the only one who really drinks. Which means drunken karaoke is unlikely unless I really wanna be that guy.

Trade school, brah. Or a two-year college. From what I know, they're a bit easier to get into. I could be wrong, though. And don't sweat the math. I'm pretty shit at math and still managed to get into school, and even there I failed it twice. Got by fine C:

not completely unrelated?

XD It is. Unless I'm tired from wrangling mental patients instead of working.

...

Huh.

Ahh sorry TZ. I forgot about that completely

It didn't even freak me out this time. I just kind of...listened. And smirked a little.
