Too late guys, the time to offer him the eye stabby items was BEFORE he watched the movie.  Now he just needs Brain Bleach.

Sit back and let me tell you a tale from the ages of geekdom.

Yes, I played Bards Tale, all three of the old DOS ones and the console hack and slash (RPG lite but Hella funny).  The old DOS ones are top notch old school party based RPGs.  And Wizardry?  One of the early ones (can't remember which) was on one of my Apple 2 5 inch floppies.  Ah, the good old days.  Wizardy 7/Gold (depending on whether or not you had the CD or Floppy version is a MUST own game.  I had a fairy ninja which was fucking pimp.  It may not sound hard core but google it sometime.

If you're talking quality old school PC RP you HAVE to play Wasteland.  Wasteland is the post nuke RPG Fallout 3 wishes it could be when it grows up, but FO3 isn't fit to carry the pot Wasteland pisses in.

Word.

I be spendin' my papers on a pre-order for that Etrian Odyssey III shit, with that wicked cool art book with the pre-order (At select locations).

Should I be excited about EO 3 and order it or should I play the first two before I dive in?

I didn't realize it was for the DS, definetly going to scoop that up over the weekend. Grin

Yea, and by all accounts it's very good.

Yea but... Dragon Quest VIII?  C'mon man...

That shit be gangsta fo' reals.  My man Akira Toriyama?  He's all up in that bitch.  Old school dungeon crawl?  It's down, from the series that practically defined level grinding even. Random enconters yo!  THE METAL SLIME BITCH!!!!  *shakes head*  But you still roll with Shiren so I guess you a'ight.

/end crappy gangsta imitation.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army

I would get a PS2 just to play those games.

You  mean you DON'T have a PS2?  *shun*
2453  Art Discussion / Music / Re: What are you listening to? on: July 22, 2010, 06:24:13 pm
Dirty Love by Motorhead.

Not what I'm currently listening to by strict definition but I mention it because moments ago I was blasting it from my car at a stoplight and a girl (reasonably attractive) in the lane next to me looked at me and BLUSHED.  It was a surreal moment that lasted a fraction of a second wherien I pondered things like, "do people really blush anymore?  She's pretty cute.  I feel weird now because if I wasn't spoken for I'd totally turn the music down and hit on her."  Then the light changed and I drove on, noting that she hesitated long enough to almost miss her turn arrow.  Life is so weird somtimes.

PM regarding what you have in mind and I'll see what I can do, just remember that by definition NPCs are controlled by the DM.
2455  Roleplaying / RPG Graveyard / Re: Hunter the Reckoning: Brookvale on: July 22, 2010, 10:12:55 am
(((OOC.  Yep, it's been a while I'm sure everyone is a little fuzzy on what's going on.

It's now Friday, late afternoon.  Brandon is preparing for a gig at a club not related to the one they group is planning on scouting Saturday night.  He's told everyone about the gig he's doing tonight and they're welcome to show up if they want, if one or two show up before the show actually starts Brandon would be able to get them into the club free of charge.

In the meantime, everyone can decide what they want to do up to the next major scene (the show Saturday night.)

Picture Brookvale like an MMO, you can wander around, interact with NPCs, investigate, whatever, either in teams or solo.  Let me know what your plans are (in thread or PM, either one is cool) and we'll get going on this again.)))

So Cheez, Raryn, Fire and Helmi are all still down?  Awesome.

Tuczib, there's room for one more if you want to submit a character sheet and I'll work you in.

In the meantime... Game ON!!!!
