2686  General Discussion / Movies/TV Discussion / Re: What are you currently watching? on: April 30, 2010, 05:40:11 am
Anyways, I watched a couple episodes of Gunsmith Cats, and it's pretty entertaining, I know I saw an omnibus of the manga at a book store, so I might have to get it.

A couple of episodes is about all they did.  Unless something came out that I missed the only Anime they did was a three episode mini-series in the early/mid nineties.  Which sucks because for a long time it was my favorite manga.  But if you liked the Gunsmith Cats anime make every effort to get your hands on the Riding Bean anime.  It's a single episode pilot for a series that got caught in legal hell and never went anywhere but it's AMAZING.  It's also the predecessor to Gunsmith Cats and the creator re-used a lot of the same characters.

Bean Bandit is the fucking man.

2688  Art Discussion / Music / Re: RIP Peter Steele on: April 27, 2010, 03:52:43 pm
Shit, I've been a Peter Steele fan since he was the front man for Carnivore.  Sadness indeed.

BTW - Totally check out the DVD edition of Nosferatu that had the soundtrack done by Peter Steele.  Fucking epic...

(Nosferatu was the German silent movie that was "destroyed" due to copyright infringement of Bram Stokers Dracule (read blatant plagirism).  Stokers estate supposedly had every copy destroyed but somehow copies were still floating around, it eventually got onto DVD and once it goes digital it becomes immortal.   Not to mention that in the meantime Dracula passed into the public domain so the suit no holder holds sway.  SOOOOOO... long story short being a silent movie it HAS no soundtrack.  Most VHS versions of the film and the DVDs based on the same cuts of the movie just have generic silent movie drama music with pianos and semi-moody music.  Being a fan of everything dark and doomish Peter Steele helped cut a soundtrack for Nosferatu from his own music (mostly Type -O negative stuff with a smattering of some new/unreleased guitarwork to bridge stuff together.)  That of course is the cut that I own  Cool

I would be down to do expert runs in the first L4D with you guys, but I'm not even close to kind of practiced.

Expert really isn't all that bad as long as you're playing with decent human players.  The bots are just shit on Expert.  Someone has a youtube video of themselves beating the Blood Harvest finale with all bots supposedly on expert, if it's true he's the greatest freakin player ever.

No he's not a fraud, he actually IS that stupid and really DOES hate his fans.

Why does George Lucas hate his fans so much?

The M60 should spawn just before the gauntlet.

Not everytime.  I've had a couple playthroughs where it never spawned.  I've had one where it spawned in the first store (this was an expert play through so I don't know if that makes a difference or not).  It's unpredictable.

And so far I've NEVER seen more than one spawn at the same time.  But it is cool to imagine the survivors with two of them.

Gotcha.  That's the confusion caused by skimming and not actually reading.

I got "until it goes click" on normal on my first play through, the underground gauntlet event, especially IN the sewer pipe is uber packed with targets.

I mean zombies.

What's the difference between this thread and "post pics of you" again?
