So the simple overview of the Hunters (or Imbued as the game refers to them).

They fall into three basic classes based on what the game calls Virtues:

Mercy  has three classes associated with it.

Redeemers, Martyrs and Innocents.  In broad terms these are the more peaceful Hunters who try to reconcile things with their enemies over actually fighting them.

Zeal

The three zeal classes are:

Avengers, Judges, Defenders.  These guys are much more action orientated and are more likely to kick ass than make friends.

Next up are the Vision based classes.

Visionaries, Hermits and Waywards.  Vision creeds are more about planning, psychic powers and communication.  Wayward and Hermits are also called the "LOST"creeds.  They are difficult to play as due to the fact that they start out with derangements from day one.

What’s a derangement?  In a nutshell Hunters are channeling powers not really meant for humans to use and as they get more powerful they start to crack.  I’ll finish up this post with my old Hunter character Zealot’s character sheet.  He’s been around a while and as such has a pretty full deck of crazy going on.

Whatever life the hunter who calls himself the Zealot may have had before he was imbued is gone. It has been closed off from his current life so completely it may as well have never existed. The most anyone else has been able to gather is that he was in fact happy at some earlier point in his life. That's an almost unbelievable contrast to the bitter, cheerless man that exists now.

He had lived with his long time girlfriend Katherine Donovan in a nice, upscale apartment. She was pregnant with their first child and he was planning on picking out an engagement ring any day. That is until she unfortunately turned up dead in their apartment.  He never showed up for work the day her body was found. Police who responded to a neighbors 911 call were quoted as saying, "It was unbelievable, the sheer amount of blood I mean. Enough for at least two, probably three bodies. It was like a slaughterhouse. The only body we ever found though was the girl." He was immediately taken into custody for questioning. Somehow he managed to overpower and disarm the three arresting officers and fled custody. At this time his status was upgraded to armed and presumed dangerous.

He vanished for a period of weeks, suddenly appearing in connection to an FBI arms smuggling investigation. Before agents could move to apprehend him an office building was destroyed in a horrific display of domestic terrorism. He was quickly declared the primary and indeed the sole suspect in this incident and has shot up to most wanted status. FBI profilers who uncovered one of his safe houses have declared him to be "dangerously unbalanced, quite possibly in the same magnitude as Manson or Gacy. The torture rooom he had set up was just sick, it looks like he worked some poor guy over for weeks, keeping him alive the whole time." The most shocking aspect of the bombing is the amazingly low casualty count. By official count only a handful of people were wounded. This is in direct contradiction to earlier, unconfirmed reports of "scores of bodies being pulled from the wreckage." Early film footage of rescue efforts has since become unavailable for review.

The suspect is 5'11", 190 pounds, with an athletic build, dark brown hair, green eyes. He is not known to use his real name or any other alias than “the Zealot” or simply “Zealot.” He is to be considered armed and extremely dangerous. Approach with extreme caution and DO NOT approach alone. Current whereabouts are unknown. Rumored to have fled the midwest. Unconfirmed sightings in the New England area.

I have a handful. I dont remember who they played. I do have Taj and I have Punisher too but I am not sure if he gets on anymore. Mish was a bitch anyways. Slipknot was a sycophant. Fuck them. Frankly, they were the ones who created the god characters I didnt like.

Ill do what I can.

I didn't say I was heart broken I lost touch with them

As far as the dice roller goes we can start off without it and see how it goes but I'm naturally suspicous of people who always make amazing rolls, I'm cynical like that  Tongue

I keep meaning to check out Alestorm.

Forum based, "rolls" will really only be done for critical tasks and I have a die roller website link laying around somewhere that actually verifies the rolls so everyone can check to make sure no funny business happened.

As far as time it would be played I'm not going to have set times, forum based games are hard to make work that way because of different time zones, etc.  The way I've done forum games I've ran in the past is to try not to progress past key points without input from everyone and then the game master resolving any actions.  White Wolf games lend themselves well to forum based gaming because they are more story and character driven rather than rolling die constantly.  As long as you don't try to god mod someone elses actions there's a lot of leeway for what you post.

I hope some of the makes sense.

EDIT: I'll post an example of a typical string of actions and resolution later.  It would be better than trying to explain it.

Fire, the only player I've really kept in contact with was Taj who RP'd Zeisha and Layla.  After some of the fallout from the last time Knight, Mish and Slipknot couldn't play nice with each other I pretty much got the cold shoulder from Mish and Slip.  Knight just doesn't seem to be on anymore.  If you still talk to Punisher see if he wants in.  Oh, and that old Japanese dude with the swords, I can't fricken remember who played his character or what his name was.
3037  General Discussion / Game Discussion / Re: What are you playing? Episode 2: Sequel Reloaded! on: March 11, 2010, 11:53:16 am
Neutral Evil is the best. I can play the sociopath I always wanted to be (the REAL one not this pretend one).

I usually play as chaotic good and I still get called a sociopath, maybe I'm doing it wrong.

I haven't seen the NWOD Hunter at all so can't really make a comparison.

Fire, I knew you were down with it before I posted the thread  Cool  Also I'm trying to get another one of the old Hunter--net players in on this as well (no not Knight).  We'll see how that goes.

Tomorrow I'll post a list of the different character types for those of you who don't know them.

Setting is going to be generic large city USA, your characters can live either in or near.  I normally use a fictitous city I created near Chicago but that's just because I'm from that area.  I'm open to input on that aspect.

I'd prefer to use brand new characters for this or very low level characters, if you have existing veteran characters you really want to use we can work them in as supporting characters with cameo type appearances but I want to avoid a lot of uber powered characters with armory (5) mixing with noobs, it just doesn't balance well.

If you've posted in this thread consider yourself signed up, feel free to post character concepts and we'll iron out details as we go.  More are welcome.

EDIT:  Character concepts that are "real life" are best suited to HtR.  Think more like pizza delivery guy or taxi cab driver than ex SEAL team merc.

So, my life is almost back to normal and I actually have free time again so...

Is anyone interested in playing a Hunter the Reckoning Old World of Darkness RP?

It would generally follow the official ruleset though adapted for forum use, similar to the way things used to run on the old www.hunter--net.org site that I knew and loved and spent way too much time on.  I have like 95% of the original splats and sources books for reference but don't let that intimidate you, it can be broken down simply and in fact the less you know going in the better and more atmospheric the experience generally is.

In a nutshell the world sucks, it's run by monsters, vampires werewolves zombies ghosts and demons are all real but the average person doesn't know and can't see them.

Stuff is progressively getting fucked up worse and worse though there is a small percentage of people who CAN see what's really going on AND have the ability to fight back.  The fun twist is the more powerful these guys become the worse life gets for them.  Bwahahaha.

Tis excellent supernatural fun and NO the vampires don't sparkle.

If you're interested respond and I'll provide more info with the hope of getting this kickstarted soon, I hope to start this in a couple weeks (I already have a campaign in mind.)  Oh the fun.

"Can't Stop," Red Hot Chili Peppers

Nothing makes a good day like good weather, Red Hot Chili Peppers blasting through the speakers, a long drive, and the windows down.

You people may insult the south, but how how many of you Americans had a clear, 70 degree day today?

Meh, it was 40s with rain yesterday and I rode my bike anyway.

And it was good...

Lotus, we were originally Death Metal but that proved way too hard to compose (plus the only two people who listened to a lot of death metal were the singer and bassist, myself and the other guitarist were into more melodic stuff), so now we are whatever genre of Metal we write up. Most of it is Thrash, so yeah.

Sounds like my style of mayhem.  Do you have any vids or music clips posted anywhere?

Actually that gave me chills, I had a remarkably similar problem with someone who thought I was their son on AIM because our screen names were very similar.

Creepy...

Having recently overcome my debilitating Motorhead addiction I've plunged back into the punk side of the spectrum.

Currently I'm obsessively collecting the back catalog of the Descendants.  Not quite as good as I remember but this is sort of a nostalgia based thing I guess.

From String Theory, which is pretty good so far.

Bookmarking for later, this one looks like it has potential.

It is true. XD
Though I barely know what a linux is to begin with.

http://www.funny.co.uk/stuff/art_71-1789-If-Airlines-were-Computers.html

I used Linux myself a lot when I was in my "bleeding edge of technology no matter what the cost" phase.  It's very stable and works very well but takes some effort to configure when you first install it.  Sort of like the article describes.
