46  General Discussion / General Discussion / Re: What did we learn today? (Apart from that australian wine rocks.) on: May 02, 2014, 11:05:52 pm
It wasn't learned specifically today but very recently I learned that Amazon UK rocks.  I was going to buy "The World's End" soundtrack album and before I clicked buy I read the reviews and someone in the reviews suggested that anyone interested in buying the album would be better off going to the UK amazon (found at amazon.co.uk) because the UK version has TEN extra tracks on it that are left off the US version.  So I logged in at Amazon UK (with my same US login which was cool) and it automaticaly converts pounds to dollars for you and bam, my soundtrack is on its way.  I have the attention span of a squirrel on crack so I immediately forgot about it until today when I had an email from Amazon UK suggesting some things I might be interested in and sure enough, they kick ass again.  Check this out.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0030HG3K6/ref=pe_418581_48466891_em_4p_4_im  It ships from Florida and will cost me 19.50 US dollars (that includes the shipping)

The same "import" album on Amazon US.

http://www.amazon.com/ORIGINAL-SERIES-SISTERS-Korean-Imported/dp/B00CH8DAP0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399093307&sr=8-1&keywords=sisters+of+mercy+original+album+series  Yea that's not a typo, it starts at 70 bucks.  Plus shipping.

I had even priced the first three albums alone digitally (emusic) a while back and it would have been almost 25 bucks just to download them which I passed on.  But less than 20 for five real CDs?  Yes please.

Lesson learned, Amazon UK is the shiznit.

The Walking Dead Season 1

Wrapped up Episode 2: Starved for Help and this should have been one of the first games I installed on my new laptop. Only got around to it now and this was damn worth the Humble Bundle.
TLO's review of it on Steam helped out some.

Glad I could help.  So far Season two is at Episode 2 and I'm not feeling the same "hooks in deep, I have to see what happens next" that I did in Season 1 at this point.  Hopefully it tightens up again later.  Wolf among us on the other hand is fantastic.

I keep meaning to get back to New Vegas but Dead Money straight up sucked all the fun out of the game for me.

The Murblesaur returns!

EDIT: Also, is that a stealth Archie comics reference with the vending machine?

aerosol deodorant was never designed as deodorant.  It was designed to spray the fuck all over the place so you cannot have an excuse for offending your company.  Even the directions are obscure and run along the lines "Just hose yourself down.  Enjoy!"

Just don't kill yourself with it... don't look at me like that, it's totally happened.  More than once even.

But will he get the idea and just post things in this thread?

Hopefully?

I has assumed he was pretty much blackmailing her for a booty call.  Jasper has gained a level or two of respect here.

Ok ZHK, I'm not sure if you're used to being part of a forum or not so I'm going to start out giving you the benefit of the doubt.

If you want to do some sort of free form RPG thing, there's a board specifically for it.  If you want to discuss possible (though obviously fictional) zombie fighting techniques, there are threads already around for it.

Please don't sprinkle bizarre and disjointed posts all over the place.  Thanks.  T-LO

That sounds delicious.

I should specify that the spaghetti bake "recipe" assumes you've mixed your sauce in with the noodles and it is even better if you have meat in the sauce.  If you don't have any sauce to mix with the noodles... well that's how I invented mexican spaghetti.

Similar to the previous scenario I found myself with a fridge full of leftovers and no desire to go shopping but this one is probably a little more creative.  I had a bunch of leftover spaghetti noodles (but no sauce this time) and a few lefovers related to tacos including the taco seasoned ground beef and a nearly full jar of salsa.  So I  connected the dots.  What's the main ingredient in spaghetti sauce?  Tomatos.  What's the main ingredient in salsa?  Tomatos.  Does this concoction keep me from having to drive anywhere?  Yes!  So I dumped the salsa in a pot with the taco meat, heated it up and used it as a stand in for real spaghetti sauce.  Bam!  Mexican spaghetti.  It's not bad either.

AP:  A few years ago I invented the best way to eat leftover spaghetti and today I made it even better.

So one day I had a bunch of leftover spaghetti and decided to punch it up a bit because I wasn't in the mood for that slightly soggy taste leftover pasta always seems to have.  So I dumped it in a baking dish, put some mozzarella cheese on top, baked it til the cheeze melted and started to brown at the edges, viola!  Spaghetti bake.  Simple, and delicious.

Tonight while I was getting ready to make a batch I had a slip of the tongue and called it pizza bake.  Then I was like, "why not?"  Layer of cheese went on top like normal, then pepperoni, and another light dusting of cheese.  Amazing.

This has been, cooking leftovers with Outlaw, join us next time where he shares his recipe for Mexican spaghetti!

I'm sure this is their way of coming out with something even more invasive and annoying than Google glass.  Plus they can crush the dreams of everyone who was looking forward to the Oculus Rift.  Win/win for FB.  Lose/lose for everyone else.

I redeemed them and didn't notice the problem until I was trying to figure out why the points weren't appearing in game.

I never knew Sony made cards for their online store... Did it have the Playstation Network, or Playstation Store logo on it? Those are what make them stand out.
No, it has the DCUO Logo though which is why it caught my eye.

http://mobile.walmart.com/ip/Sony-Universal-15-Game-Card/19530504

It does say (PC) after DCUO but I didn't notice it when I bought it.  I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with these 4000 points now.  I sort of think it's BS that the PC/PS3 economy is seperate like that.  It really doesn't make sense to me.

PP:  Pissed away 30 bucks on Sony station cash cards yesterday.  I don't usually like the idea of actually paying to subscribe to an MMO but I've been playing DCUO often enough that I've been considering it.  I was in Wal Mart and noticed they carry Sony "cash cards" that you can use for either a month sub or use as Marketplace cash for buying in game goodies.  Wal-Mart cards have a five dollar bonus of Sony's cash points included.  I was like , "Sweet, a month sub PLUS extra points to dick around buying random crap, that sounds like a legit way to trial-run a sub, I'll take two."  Yea... apparently the Sony PC marketplace and PS3 marketplace are COMPLETELY seperate and these card are only good for the PC marketplace.  Which is completely useless to me.  Nothing like setting fire to 30 bucks just to watch it burn.
