PP:  I finished Deadpool and wanted to recommend it.  It apparently was removed from the Steam store since I picked it up on sale.  I should be happy I got it on sale before it vanished but damn, I wanted other people to buy and enjoy this game.

You can also do wireless 360 controllers to your PC (which is my personal preference.)  But if you buy an off brand transmitter in can be a PITA to get it working intially.

Consider him reported to  Grin

But you're right, be as grumpy as want all year long, no one can stop you.  Have a cake and put the candles out with your tears of rage and angst.   totally a lie...

Because of the Steam sale I've been game hopping with the attention span of a squirrel on crack but it's been fun.  Here's what I've been up to the last few days.

DCU Online, got the last holiday event feat I'm going to bother going for, still trying to get a dupe of a rare armor drop so I can trade it for a red aura.  I crave a red aura so bad but I canít get excited about buying one with real money.

Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 1. Finally finished it, I may go back and replay it because I realized I'm turning Clem into a evil spirited manipulative bitch, in the last couple scenes I could feel the evil coming off the screen in waves.  But I'll probably just go with it and create a parallel game save.  The "next on walking dead" teaser trailer makes me want Episode 2 yesterday.

Deadpool, I think I'm almost done with it.  It's not a long game but it's been a lot of fun and I'll probably replay it to try out the different weapons and see if I can nab some more achievements (Iíve only used the starting pistols and swords so far).  It's certainly not for everyone and some of the humor is just juvenille and stupid but there are some moments of real hilarity.  There have been at least two times I had to pause the game because I was laughing too hard to play.

LaMulana, still aimlessly wandering the bitch hard water section trying to figure out what to do next.

MaxPayne 3.  I'm almost to the end of the level where the cash drop goes awry.  There are aspects of this game I feel are brilliant but it's hit or miss on whether it actually feels like a Max Payne title.

Giana Sisters, twisted dreams.  This is a fun platformer.  I didn't play very long but I like platformers (like Trine) that make you swap characters and this one actually gives you more incentive to swap than Trine because the level architecture changes based on what character youíre playing as.

Legend of Dungeon.  This game may be ok but I couldnít stand the graphics.  I have nothing against retro pixel games but there is something about making 3-d models look like retro pixels that is horrific to me.  The stiff animations and unintuitive level designs donít help it either.

How to Survive.  Single player, local co-op or webernet co-op this game has you covered.  3rd person zombie survival shooter with RPG elements and crafting set on a tropic island chain.  I know it sounds  like Dead Island but give it a chance.

Surgeon Simulator.  This game alternates between hysterical (again, literally laughing so hard I couldnít breathe on multiple occasions) and very frustrating.  Itís better if youíre alternating plays with someone because itís almost better to watch someone else than play yourself.  Iíve still yet to actually save a patient.

PP: FUCKING STEAM SALE.

Sorry to hear about the rest of your PP's (the bereavement one is extreme BS) but I have to argue with the Steam sale one, this has been one of the best sales in a while and a lot of the stuff I've picked up has been 75%-90% off which is awesome.  Unless you mean the drain on your bank account because of the Steam sale is a PP in which case I totally get that.   Grin

Happy New years.  I was pretty laid back New Year's Eve.  Like I was actually able to drive home right after midnight.  Something must be wrong because I think I'm losing my taste for alcohol.

I hate the new you tube uploader.  When I try to drag and drop the audio track it just plays in the browser.  I hates it forever, tricksy website.

EDIT:  Got one of them up.

Angst and Rage

Title is open to alteration but that's when it's been in my MP3 player.  Mid tempo, melodic/aggressive mood swings, good times.  Check out my craptastic attempt at a gallop thrown randomly into the middle along with the out of place chugging/mosh pit churning outro.

EP's are typically four or five tracks at most.  We should  totally do at least one out of genre cover just because we can.  I'm thinking something by Celldweller but that's mainly because I've been listening to all of the Celldweller ever pretty much non stop for the last two months.

EDIT:  Another track is up.  A little shorter but probably a little punkier.  I like the mini noise solo.

Misplaced Aggression.

Bought Deadpool when it was sale and played it for a bit yesterday, it's not great but it's funny.  Which is probably about what I expected.  It seems like it was worth the ten bucks.

Got Max Payne 3 working consistently.  It's sort of sad when the official Rockstar support page for the game links to a thread in the Steam forums because a fan figured out how to get the game working but at least they gave credit where it was due.  Gameplay wise I like it.  Themetically I'm kind of dissapointed it isn't paced the same as the first two and seems to lack the little touches that made the world more immersive like the baseball bat boy comic strips and fake TV shows.  And the weird strobing thing during cut scenes is annoying.

La Mulana continues to be bitch hard.  I got past the waterfall to enter the water area but can't seem to fast travel to it if I leave.  And exploration here is a PITA because the water does continuous damage.

I've been busy this week with holiday stuff but I'll post a few of the tracks I have on youtube this weekend and stick a link up here.

Played some Max Payne 3 last night.  When it was working it seemed great.  But on Steam it has a tendency to hang up when intially loading and when I actually did manage to get it to play I played for about two hours before getting the first BSOD I've ever had on PC while playing a game.  I am dissapoint.

Got a little further into La Mulana after giving up on Max Payne.  Slowly branching out my exploration and found a new item that will help me get past one of the primary obstacles I've encountered so far.  HK, I think you would like this game and I bet your PC can run it.  It has a difficulty curve that reminds me of Shiren even though it's not a roguelike.  One of the reviews for it described it as the bastard offspring of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Dark Souls.

La Mulana.  It was on sale super cheap (buck fifty or less) a day or so into the winter sale and I'm glad I picked it up.  A 2-D side scrolling platformer, it's sort of hard to pigeonhole but it has elements of metroidvania with an emphasis on puzzle solving.  Like the first area has a useful item hidden it that requires you navigate almost the entire area multiple times to finally get your hands on it.  Which felt like a major accomplishment until I realized that as cool and useful as the item was it really didn't do anything to help me with the obstacles keeping me from exploring further into the tomb.  If you like games that stress problem solving, exploration and gadget collecting give it a look.

Also "How to survive" seems pretty promising.  It has local co-op even on PC which is a feature usually missing.

World War Z. Read the book and AVOID THIS FUCKING MOVIE. Complete shit.
I thought it was a mediocre zombie movie, but it was a waste calling it World War Z since it really had nothing to do with the book.

Picked up Mount & Blade Collection for $6.99, 80% off. And the other day it had Deponia for a toonie, 90% off.

I think you'll enjoy Mount and Blade.  And I keep hoping that the last Deponia game goes on deep discount during this sale.  I've been jonesing for it for a while now.  I'm currently trying to decide if I want to grab either Eldritch or Battlefield 2 complete.
