Is it ok to necro this thread?? Is that something that is ok?? Anywho, Sons of guns recently made a couple guns for Max Brooks, and they where awesome, here is one I am lookin to get. It is a .22 and the suppressor and scope dont come with it but, it is basically a ruger .22 rifle in a bullpup frame. It looks cool, recoil is less of a bitch, and it is still crazy simple to maintain. From the price checking I have done it shouldnt cost more than the marlin I bought.

Just saw it this evening. It wasn't as good as the hype led me to believe, but it was certainly very good nevertheless. And I was told I wouldn't expect what it was about, and that was totally correct.
I dont generally follow the hype, I'm on here to often to watch tv. I think that is why I enjoy a great many movies my friends hate. Hearing that this movie is a homeage to the slahser films gives me a bit of hope for it; I wanted to see it but it didnt really jump out at me ya know??

General Discussion / Movies/TV Discussion / The best and worst

In my search for zombie related flicks I have discovered a pattern, for every good zombie movie there are 10 bad ones. The point of this thread is to share what you think the best and worst zombie movies are, give us a brief reason why you think the way you do. I'll get us started.
Beast: the 1990 remake of Night of the living dead
Romero had this film made to bring the Dead series back inline with its self. He fixed a few of the plotholes with the zombies( most notably the useing tools thing) and reintroduced it to a generation that may have otherwise missed it. It has a special place i nmy heart becasue it is the first zombie film I have ever seen.
Worst: House of the dead
I know it seems like a copout to use a uwe bowl movie but I cant not talk about it. The acting is weak, the story confusing and the bullet time used in the action scenes is just boring...how do you make bullet time boring!! Zombie movies shouldn't be hard to make, even some of the bad ones are fun because they are so bad, but uwe bowl manages to fail on every level with this one.

Just started watching Season 2 a few days ago, and I know loads of people have been saying this season sucks, but I'm really enjoying it. While zombies are a big part of a zombpocalypse, this isn't some video game where your only goal is killing zeds. It's survival, and not only is the interaction with other people important to that, personally I'm finding it just as interesting.
I'm right there with ya Cheez, I agree that season 2 has been moving a little slower than I like but I have very much enjoyed watching the group grow and change. The show is more about the people and how they respond to the zombie apocalypse and not just about the zombies...we have room for both course, dont get me wrong. I have also really liked how our heroes aren't always heroic, they make mistakes and sometimes are just plan dicks, its refreshing to see a series where the point is to make all the characters interesting but not necessarily likeable; it makes watching the events unfold more interesting. wow, a long post and no question, didnt see that comin did ya??

I think I read an articule on cracked that was going on about what if other movie monsters got the twilight make over. I laughed when they brought up the zombie love story, thought there was no way anyone would be so sad as to turn zombies into a teen heart throb...how wrong I obviously was

I am not saying we should riot, there has to be a better way to handle this than that. If people become violent or even start issueing threats and ultimatums it will only make the people pushing this garbage push harder and feel more justified in their actions. I am suggesting we (as in people in general not just here) spread the word about what sopa is, I have met many who know nothing about it, and let those in power know what we think about it. I am not saying we should have an armed revolution, but we should let the government know this course of action is stupid and it will do harm without fixing anything. If people do nothing, nothing gets fixed; all I'm sayin. And I'm with Log! on the whole know why you are screaming thing, I just wanted to get a little info circulating not bust out hate on anyone.

I can't agree with you more stan, the internet is quickly becoming the world's consciousness. We are finally getting to that point where the lines on the map are starting to fade away and now someone wants to censore the thing that is making it possible for us to be citizens of the Earth and not our seprate nations??
Even stepping back from my grandious idea there, money stands to be lost from this bill. If it passes internet technology and buisness will be a risky investment and many people wont invest because of it. Internet companies, or worse yet, indivduals who make a living off the internet will have a harder time doing so and thats if they manage it at all. Fortunately, I read that the sopa bill is going under some kind of review...hopefully that means we wont hear of it again, but pipa is still out there and I'm with stan on not giving up on letting the world know how bad of idea sopa is.
If we don't let them know they did wrong they will continue to think it is ok.

Ha! As if the people in charge would let the common man have a vote on something this big. Personally I think its up to the other world leaders too say Americas world policing has gone too far now.
Your right cricco, we should do nothing and hope the world leaders stop the evil satan that is america from taking over the world.... I gotta agree with firefrog, its good to see that the big companies are standing behind 'the common man'. I love that google is on this, those guys are powerful enough to be scary. I just wish there was something we could do other than pettitions, I dont put much stock in online pettitions but I can't think of anything else. I suppose I could throw money at the problem but I wouldn't know who is legitmately trying to help and who wants to take advantage of us well meanig goofs.

I completely agree that the global community should band together and try to talk the American government out of this, its a very bad idea on many levels Like I said in my first post, I wanted us to get together here and brainstorm on what we can do (legally of course). I posted what I know to do,it aint much but it is all I can do in my very limited circle of influence (ie none). I heard that group on readit was gathering money to help fund politicians oppsed to the bill...not sure how that would help, I thought this would be a vote not a court hearing.

For those of us that play minecraft, yes I stole that from mojang, I admit it. Anyway, as some of you may know, the government is trying to pass a bill that will pretty much censore the internet; I have been watching this bill for awhile but todays internet blackout has convinced me I should do more than watch. I understand the need to get rid of internet piracy, a company has a right to sell there product, but I feel it irresponsible and true knee-jerk reaction to give any one body the power to shut down a website based on vague reasoning. To learn more about what sopa is, I have hunted down a little info. please post better links if you find them, I'm not trying to sucker anyone here. http://www.opencongress.org/bill/112-h3261/showhttp://www.blogworld.com/sopa/ Google has posted a petition and I am posting here, I know it isn't much but it's better than doing nothing. If you try to go to wikipedia today you can enter your zip code and it will give a list of your representatives (for those that live i nthe U.S., not sure how it would work for everyone else), I think we should all write our reps and tell them what we think. Here is a list of U.S. representatives that support and oppse the bill, I was about right mine but he seems to be against it . I wanted to make this thread to get more ideas circulating on what we can do to stop this bill. If left unopposed, the bill could do alot more damage than it would fix; how many buisnesses have become succesful because of the internet, or individuals that got their work known because of the it?? The internet is, by its very nature, the embodiment of freedom of speech and the free exchange of ideas; I have no doubt the form of the internet will change in the future but these changes should make it a safer place to be, not destroy what it is.
