For me it would be a couple of reasons.

Trying to help people.
Putting the trust in the wrong people.
Overconfidence would probably be my biggest flaw, I would accidentally neglect to do something and then a zombie would show up and I won't be ready.
Maybe even not knowing that the apocalypse had happened quick enough.

im bad at making quick decisions. if you give me 5 minutes to think, im quite smart. but on a seconds notice? if im given two good options, ill choose the third, bad, one;/ this also makes me terrible at wining arguments, which is annoying.

Its a lose lose situation when you are being betrayed. Either you betray them first and if you dont kill them then they will certainly come back to kill you or you think everything is fine and they stab you in the back. Why is being evil so much easier than being good?

Probably opting to go alone when travelling in a group does have its benefits. You who are alone in the beginning are the only one looking out for you and I am confident we will see robbers and such very quickly in such a situation. If your prepared to the max, but you get strongarmed by 6 punks with rusty pistols that might not fire but might actually fire your still as fucked as the guy who did shit all and booked it.
