The past few days living in the path of Tropical Storm Irene actully gave me a taste of what the first day of a Zombie outbreak would be like. For the first time I had a semi dry run...

I have to say... I wasn't ready.

You survived, and you can use it as an opportunity to learn.  That's really the best experience you can get.

We can through fine.  We aren't in a flood zone so once the heavy rain was over most of the basement danger was over.  I did get to repair my sump pump during the rains, which is always fun (not). 

Also, my son pretty much got up the entire night to "storm watch" with me.  He did great!

Do you have a bug out bag? I have found that having one is useful for any situation. Floods, cyclones, fires, zombies and aliens. There is nothing that it wont help you with.
