What kind of Factions would develope during a zombie outbreak?

Probably a lot of military groups, maybe some of them back by religious groups? It's hard to say exactly.

It might be something like the book "Metro 2033", or STALKER. After the collapse of society, people start forming their own communities or "Factions" with their own unique ideologies, politics, and beliefs.

Gangs that are already here would continue. New ones would form. Religious communities would band together. There will also be survivor groups banding together around a strong leader. Nomads are a possibility. It just depends on which country you live in and who survives.

i see:

Zealous evangelical religious groups bent on hunting any and ALL that oppose the word of god(s)
gangs of raiding and pillaging people always on the move killing anything in their way
a "king of the ghouls"
separatist states formed by strong gangs
cannibals
good people bent on helping others in a civilized and peaceful way
Rogue military/civilian units claiming land and other stuff as theirs
Etc etc etc.

I base my predictions in the U.S by U.S citizens usually thinking about the midwest and pretty much every major city and country side. You got the good, the bad, and the zombies.

What about quislings?  The ones in World War Z, gone insane and decided
to act exactly like zombies.  Would probably be rare, like cannibals but with a bigger
dose of crazy.
Looters, prefering to scavenge on abandoned stuff than risk engaging contact with
others.
