Would you make a map? What would go on it? How large of an area would it cover?

If I was in a group and wanted to compile everything everyone found, yes. If I was alone, no, I don't forget where stores and people's homes are now, and I imagine with zombies around I would have to restrict my wanderings to a smaller territory. Unless there was a "breathing air around zombies causes memory loss", but then I'd want to take notes on a lot more than territory.

Once I had a secure place and people with me I think it would be important. There are plenty of maps still on paper around so having one of those as a reference would be handy. If I was alone I would still probably want one. I work well with seeing the map for planning things out. Even at work for project planning, I like to draw diagrams, so yes I'd have maps.

I see a map being used as a means of keeping track of, and passing on to others information about things like...
Which bridges are intact, and which are unsafe to use. Which towns and cities are safe to go to, and which are hostile, or over run with the dead. Area's of the country that may not be safe anymore.

I have already made a map. It has the location of all the supermarkets, gun stores, tool stores and fuel stations. It also has the best routes through the city.

I'd just use an os road map. It has towns, cities, roads and terrain.

I would keep a map of the local area. Like, if I was in a smaller town, maybe the whole town? But if it was larger, the immediate area. It would have locations of possible supplies, or bases, or just stuff like that. It'd make going out into the wastes a lot easier if you knew where you were going and how to get there since you could update this map to plot out different travel restrictions like one road is full up with cars and another one isn't, or stuff like that.

Like alot of the people here I would probably use a premade map as a bases and then add to it, but I would deffinately have one. I like the idea of making several fortified areas and moving between them, that way the zombies have less of a chance to box me in anywhere. A hand made map showing the best routes to these locations might be good but I have no talent for such things.
