the fact that the spit went through him was pretty cool and the way he looked at it made me think of how sudden and deadly a spitter's attack could be, and they could attack anywhere. Jenny, you have made the only zombies that have effectively scared me. them and basilisks.

No, that's the bottom edge of their uniform top. They're wearing a gray top with a black load-bearing vest over it (though they don't carry much on the vest other than ammo, it looks like).
I'm not sure if the spit went through or just splashed or what, but either way, those guys weren't coming home alive, even before the grenade.

This train of thought makes me think about the bunker coats worn by the Red Halos in their first real appearance way back when. Specifically, were those bad ass bunker coats spit resistant? If not would ANY fabric resist the mighty spit? Seeing how fast it ate through that cable the group was hanging from I almost would think not.

Desperate last stands are always a little depressing to me, I'm not sure what it is exactly. I think the letter as the background for epic scenes of zombie mayhem would be awesome and would deffinately fit the feel.
I haven't posted in this topic since I signed up...is that bad??

The thing with "last stands" is that they are badass. But they are not badass in the zombie genre! Why? Because screaming like a little girl while chunks of flesh are being torn off you is not badass. There is one way, however, and that RHO understood it: Going down with a bang! Buuuuut preferably something a little bit more explodey than a grenade.

That depends how much dirt the explosion is able to throw into the air. There, it probably was plenty.

So that last bit that Megan says, is that refering to his team being fragile like the Red Halos and Charlies main purpose is to protect teams in general? Or, is it that most people (the Red Halos) are fragile and Charlie needs to protect that team because they are special?
Oh and Jenny, disembodied heads being kept alive has just set a new bar for disturbing for me. *sarcasm on* thanks, thanks a lot, really needed that to sleep better at night. *sarcasm off*

Its rather confusing to me how the zombies were able to surround the two RHS men when their convoy appears well armed and highly mobile. So whats up with the two stranded soldiers?

I liberally support Kukri's regularly applied to zombie heads, it's therapeutic. >.
