Hrmm...the cover page and title reminds me of those dark, revenge plots in the movies or stories. "The Price of Wendigo's Children." SUSPENSE!

Really awesome title! Can't wait to see what happens (aside from the things we're all pretty sure will happen). Also, this is the first forum I've been in that had one of these: It's my new favorite thing.

Canadian folklore if i remember correctly: It is a malevolent cannibalistic spirit into which humans could transform, or which could possess humans. Those who indulged in cannibalism were at particular risk, and the legend appears to have reinforced this practice as a taboo.

Hurrr thanks :B My written scripts definitely hit the meat grinder once they hit the comic, in fact they hardly ever stay the same xD. I wasn't sure what didn't sound right about what same was saying at first-- But now that you pointed out the flippancy, I know what it was *gasps* Jenny liked something I said. I'm just going to sit over here and bask in this for a few minutes. I also liked that Sam shifted from calling him "Chuck" to calling him "Charlie" when he was trying to understand. It reminded me of a favored passage from one of the books on my shelf, a historical fiction about a Russian kid who escapes a German work camp during WW2 and meets up with an American platoon led by Sergeant "Bull" Cotton. After tagging along with the Americans into a firefight, he was distressed by the cries of a wounded German soldier, and the sergeant called him Pete in comforting him, instead of the usual Russky. "Rusky was the nickname he must expect and accept, most of the time. But when he needed a strong hand and a warm voice to settle him, Bull would call him Pete." Sam and Charlie seem a lot like that. In those moments he needs help to make sense of it all, Sam seems to be the one to provide it.

Breaking news in this chapters, somebody gets eated! My guess; (flashback) Katie's Dad: "Here pumpkin, eat up." Katie:"...wheres Mommy? Isn't she hungry." Katie's Dad "..."
Then again, we haven't met Dan yet. Dan: "There where five of us, low on food and ammo." Jenny:"... and then?" Dan "...There was just me... food wasn't a problem anymore."

Its a belief of the Algonquin native Americans, mostly on the Canadian side. If you ate another human than you would likely become one, the southern tribes believed that the wendigo was a spirit that would posses you at random if the wendigo ceremony was not done. the ceremony was used by all Algonquin native Americans though, usually to warn people not to cannibalize other tribesmen. The title of this chapter is likely a reference to the cannibalistic nature of zombies though, not that someone will eat another person, not while aforementioned person is alive anyways. Dont long paragraphs make you feel accomplished and smart, or is it just me?
