The only way to improve a zombie is to make it dead.

Nitro? Isn't he a professional wrestler? Hmmm, interesting plan. Drop professional wrestlers out of helicopters into hordes of zombies.
I'd stick with naplam though. Cheap (if you have access to gasoline), efficient, and a lovely fresh scent. Of course there is always the psychotic ninja chicken option.

So, the explosion will blow a zombie's head off, it'll fly through the air, and land on Milo's face. It'll still have enough life in it for one last bite. It'll die happy.

They're a bit tricky to train.

I gotta say..... These military guys are idiots.
They're using up precious fuel setting zombies on fire??? Anything that would be sufficient to cook a zombie would be more of a threat to the ones wielding it. Either you get a zed shambling towards you that's on fire, or you start a raging fire that incinerates thousands of square miles before it stops, because hey folks, there's no forest rangers to put it out no more.

Napalm incinerates everything. It burns at 1,500°F. Nothing is gonna shamble with it's completely burned to ashes. It's jelly gasoline, it'll eventually burn itself out when it runs out of gasoline to burn. And what forest fires? It's the wasteland. And unless they're using flamethrowers, who cares what gets cooked on the ground? Looks like they're doing this Vietnam style, fly-by bombings! After you get done raiding a city of the dead, why not burn it to the ground? Less zombies, the better. Either way

Hmm... Use napalm or risk valuable soldiers...
Did they ever mention that fuel is scarce in the comic?

Considering the number of vehicles Halo uses, I would say they have a decent fuel supply.

Fuel can go back if it's in contact with oxygen for a few months. It polymerises and forms gum that would clog fuel lines. If they find such a batch, using it to burn things isn't really a waste.
