I like the Albatross! It's nice to see a bright white cargo ship. They turn dull white/grey and get all ugly looking.

How is it ironic? An albatross is a sign of good luck for a ship/voyage. I see giving a ship a name like that not ironic, more fitting. Better than Titanic. |

It's ironic because the poem is about basically going to "hell and back." Because the Mariner killed the ship's "good luck charm" the crew and the Mariner slowly went insane due to no water and due to the rage of bad luck because of the death of the Albatross. It's ironic because the Albatross like you said, is good luck. However, it could mean that one day some idiot is going to sabotage the engine and thus killing the Zombie Hunters on the ship going into the Wasteland. Also, it's the name of the Ship that Jenny uses for her Firefly MMO, thing. |
