Wallet's a good place to keep ID and stuff without misplacing it. I has a wallet. It's a bitch and a half when I just bring my Driver's License to places (bars, concerts, etc) in fear of getting it stolen or it falls out of the pocket. Wallet makes sure that it stays with you.

Also, he's a guy. All men have wallets. It's man law. xD

So I was right about Jasper just being that annoyed. He either really likes Mau or really dislikes the trouble those bullies cause. Either way, things could be worse.

But what a twist!  Jasper, half asshat, half kitten cuddler.  Who would've thought?  He must have high morals or something, but it's easy to hate bullies.  But keep in mind folks he was sorta the guy that saved our ZH at the first of this comic, blackmailing Mau aside....

Jasper's a anti-hero type thing, he's a good guy, but he's a total dick about it.

Personally I think most people got Jasper down a little wrong.

He appears to be neither a particularly bad or nice person: in majority of the instances he's been seen in was him working as a Red Halo officer. "Saving" Katie was simply part of his duties, and whether he likes it or not he tends to do his job as best he can (how else could he have risen to such a high rank?)

Also, he doesn't actually go out of his way to promote the detriment of other characters; while he appears to perhaps milk situations to attain the most pleasure from them, sometimes to the chagrin of more popular characters, he hasn't yet done anything to particularly harm any of them.

In conclusion, he's just another human: selfish, ego-centric and using power to the point of abuse.

Considering his situation, and the very nature of humanity and society at this point, is his behaviour so irregular?

I think making him a more complete character would have worked better showing him handling a different situation than a slight variation on the original one.
Jasper VS Jenny = he's in authority and she'd have little rights or even credibility against him should she fight back
Jasper VS Kathie = he's in authority and she'd have little rights or even credibility against him should she fight back
At best it could mean he's more of a douche with some people than others (or just wasn't PMSing this day), at worst it's just out of character. If he's bad at authority, it'd make more sense making him good at something else.

Perhaps the theft has something to do with why he's more antagonistic to the crew?

Personally, I maintain he's a dick through and through, though. I figure he's just a dick to adults, is all.

Once upon a time, there was a kid named Jasper. Jasper the kid was a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Then one day, the word went to hell on Jasper the kid, though and he rapidly stopped being a kid. After a bit time in a hostile environment, Jasper found other survivors, and was taken in by them. As thanks for the rescue, he decided to do his bit, and joined HALO.

One day, while looking for a bunch of idiot kids who'd been causing trouble, he found a bit more than he had bargained for. For a split second, the tought of letting the stake plunge flashed through his mind. It was followed even faster by... something else. There she was, the blond (delusional much) girl he had had a crush on as a kid. She was there, about to kill a troublemaker. However, he knew others wouldn't see it quite that way, so he intervened.

So yeah, Jasper actually has a major crush on Katie and is just going through Mau to get closer to her
