Lost hope for ever finding a cure when embarking on a research expedition. Makes me wonder what she is really going off to research. Nice end to a chapter, ship sailing, waves good bye, storm brewing, thoughts of change in the future, any more symbolism thrown in there and you'd think it was a written by Kafka

Nobody's gonna be around forever god damnit Megan.
True, but couldn't Charlie last a whole lot longer than anyone else? I imagine since he's a half-life he doesn't rot like zombies, nor does he age like the regular living. Just guessing though, I don't really know.

There goes Jenny waving all those "facts" at us, like we're some kind of crazy super memory people. Maybe if the strips came a little closer together, 4 or 5 times a week, we'd all have better recall.

Can't we just train Charlie(s) up to the level of Megan and have an eternal team of half-life researchers dedicated to eradicating the virus, and take the chance of having a fascist state where normals are periodically harvested to provide sustenance to the intellectual elite overclass who are doing it for the public's own good?

^ You mean the snootymites? "I beg your pardon waiter, but this bloody tissue is not infected enough for my delicate palate." Imagine an army of Charlies! Everyone has their own Charlie!! And maybe the Charlie Army can figure out a way to clone Jasper ^V^

So according to 194, this means that there are some zombies (the ones from the wastelands) that *don't* rot?

No zombies rot. As Mercer said on page 194: "Like the undead found in the wastes, our subject will not decay". The virus prevents the process that causes corpses to rot. As you probably have noticed, the wounds on the zombies are not that of decay. The zombies are practically immortal, though weather, "accidents", battle, muscle strain, etc would very slowly cause them to degenerate since their bodies can't heal themselves. The part about muscle strain though is fixed by the zombies hibernation ability.
