Do you think a subjects age at time of death would effect how effective of a zombie they would be? Say would a 70 year old zombie be weaker then a 30 year old zombie? Would a child zombie be quick? Would age related mental deterioration make a diffrence in the zombies already limited mental function?

I think it would be easier to kill a toddler zombie than a tweenty year old zombie. As for mental capacity, maybe, but I don't think it would be noticeable.

Definately would be a lot easier taking down a kid zombie than an adult. 10 kg kid or 90kg adult? You choose. I think age would play a large role as well. It would be really easy to tangle with a 80 year old infected because their bones would be brittle and they would lack muscle definition not to mention they might not be able to see or hear very well before becoming a zombie.

An elderly zombie would most likely be weaker, because of the generally weaker body frame.  However, they'd probably put as much effort in eating as a 30-year old zombie.  If the zombies shambled instead of running, I'd say the younger z's (6-35 yrs?) have the advantage of being slightly faster, if they weren't overweight or anything.  The adult zombies would be harder to take in a close combat situation, but the smaller z's are harder to spot and are less likely to be spotted (making you more vulnerable to an ambush).  I don't think the age would be a great factor in a typical zombie's intelligence, though.  Zombies will be zombies.
