Don't forget about the colossal squid!

Check out this chart of squid. Look at length and weight for both Mesonychoteuthis hamilton (Colossal Squid) and  Architeuthis (Giant Squid)

Pretty ridiculous, and why I'll never swim in the ocean....despite the fact that I think both are deep sea creatures and would die even if they came anywhere near the surface, but that still isn't very comforting. Tongue

I'm more scared of small water creatures than big ones. Like the parasitic fish that swims into people's urethra if they pee in the water. All the exotic diseases like guinea worm, and jellyfish. Fucking jellyfish. Fucking I'M ON FIRE AND THE FIRE IS ALSO ON FIRE jellyfish.
And coral is very sharp and often poisonous, and so are rocks, and the fishing hooks that everybody lose after they get stuck under rocks and when you step on it you have to rip your skin apart to free your foot.
Anemones may look like flowers, they're also vicious predators, and their poison is as potent as their jellyfish cousins.
Also, leeches. What I hate are the tiny ones. They lodge themselves under your fingernails, between your toes and in your buttcrack. Big ones don't seek out the worst places, at least.

In conclusion: in the sea (and lakes and rivers) everything that you don't eat will eat you. Eat fish.

One of the worst (or rather, close-call scary) experiences I've had with the sea was in Stradbroke Island. We were in a cove just next to the main beach, cliff jumping, and I was on a rock "island" about 3 metres high, and was in the process of jumping off to get to the main cliff; and then as I was about to take off, the biggest damn manta ray I'd ever seen unearthed itself from under the sand and swam away, and then I lost balance and my friend had to pull me backwards or I would've fallen in. Also, the sharks were closer to shore than usual that day. I didn't have any experience with them (I was on a high cliff when this happened), but two of my friends decided to be idiots and swim back to shore (despite how far away we were from it), rather than take the little rock path that we used to get to the cliff in the first place, and we saw a few sharks swim towards them before some lifesaver on a jetski scared them off. They (my friends) thought we were just kidding around with our warnings >.<

Despite all that, the cove is damn beautiful. It was clear water and you could see all the fishes swimming around, and the water flooding in to the rock trenches filled with crustaceans and whatnot.

Also, I've been stung by a Bluebottle a few times.

I've somehow managed to steer clear of blue bottles. Once I stood on one, but I was lucky enough to stand purely on the jelly bit so didn't get stung. Considering how much time I spent in the water and on the beach in my life, I'm pretty amazed. Though I've also never been stung by a wasp or bee, so maybe I'm just lucky like that.

We may fail alone, but that is better than dying with them, only to be forgotten. I for one, would rather suffer now, than leave this life without passion.

I don't actually go to the beach that much (despite living in the Sunshine State XD), I'm too terrified of sharks. I don't mind it if the water is clear and you can see them coming, but in beaches where the water isn't clear, I get scared and start to fret a little. It's just the idea of being attacked randomly and being almost helpless. I hate that humans are so helpless in the water.

So I got the unique experience of being bitten by a wild fox this weekend.
I even got it on tape... which is the same reason I got bit. I took my hand with my cellphone all the way into its face and in a moment of shortsightedness I patted it on the nose with my middle finger.
Well, the bite is actually just a tiny scratch and technically doesn't qualify as a real bite.
That fox is a weird one. Obviously born this year and is half-tame. It comes around our house to steal food from the cat.
We'll shoot any other fox. She is just too adorable with the way she walks around us like if we aren't dangerous.
As long as she doesn't assault any sheep then we'll let her live(Foxes are good mice exterminators).

And I've never imagined Lemon dipped in honey before either!
WHY DOES IT BOTHER ME SO MUCH!?
