I gave chocolate kisses to everyone in class last halloween. This year I want to make medical technologist themed candy: chunks of fruit embedded in sugar and supported with an histology cassette. I'd try to make it look as similar as possible as a real microtome-ready embedded biopsy, just more delicious.
So far I haven't found an histology accessories provider that will sell cassettes in small quantities. I want no more than 50, especially given that they're over 50¢ each AND I have no use for 250 of them.
...
I guess I could carve a mold that ressembles a cassette and pour something edible in it and have no inedible parts, but it would be more awesome to have the real thing.
Also I'd give them around in the first class on halloween, for a while only one teacher would know they're around, and there may be WTF moments when uninformed teachers see students munching on something that looks like processed human flesh!

I think monday I'll ask if I can buy a couple from the school, that way I don't need a whole box. But then teachers would know of my plan in advance

(it's ok, the WTF potential is only a bonus, what I'm really going for is the crazy geeky novelty craftery)
