Oh, you know, sometimes people say something instead of what they actually wanted to say, i believe that the person who said "wow, you are shallow" actually wanted to say "wow, I'm an idiot!"
How can a person be really pretty but still have something to change in his/her body? Shouldn't you say "she would be really pretty if ..." Edit- This sentence is silly.
Or am I being a dick?

In the end you were asked for an opinion of appearance, it's not fair for the person who asked to say you were shallow if they asked your opinion on her looks (you also replied in a nice way, I'm sure others could have said a similar thing but in a less nice way). It would be different if they asked if you thought she was a cool person or something, and you replied with that answer, as it would suggest that all you cared about were looks.

The two paragraphs in your post contradict each others. One says that a person can't be pretty if there's anything you don't like about her appearance. The other says it's not shallow to say there's something you don't like about her appearance. You can have one or the other, not both. |

The way I see it, someone can be pretty, while not being perfect(nobody is, right?). So you see the flaws, but you overlook them. However, when you say that someone should change something in their looks to be pretty, the person cannot be pretty, because he or she has to change something to be that.
How are the paragraphs contradictory? How does a statement about when you can call someone pretty contradict a statement about shallowness?
Maybe I was a bit scarce in words, but I wanted to say pretty much what Millly said.
I know that you are only paraphrasing paragraphs that I wrote, but I think that we all would agree that its not shallow to express your opinion on someone's looks when asked about them?

Not enough of my friends think about the things that they say. Too many people complain about how often they're unfairly judged by some random shadowy mass of "pretty people" that doesn't actually exist, and they talk about how much they suck and will randomly identify people to fit into this pool of people who judge them unfairly based on the way they dress or the things they choose to do. Hm. Okay.
And can someone please explain to me the whole "YEAH I AM WEIRD GET OVER IT I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK." Am I the only one who realizes how absolutely thoughtless this is? Do you know what you do if you don't give a shit? You certainly don't wave a great big flag and say "HEY! HEY! LOOK AT ME! I DON'T CARE! DO YOU SEE HOW LITTLE I CARE? ARE YOU LOOKING?
