I once killed a man in Reno, just to watch him die. No big deal.

I beat the League in White last night, beat N and Ghetsis and all that. And I think I can safely say now that this has been my favourite Pokemon game. I can say without shame, in all honesty, that I was really moved by the end, and that I was sad to see N Go. I’ve never had any emotional attachment like that with any Pokemon game, and never really expected to.
Good job, GameFreak.

Pokemon finally introduced a sane parent. "What? You're like 8! No, You won't travel across the land, nor will you search far and wide."

Yeah, but they introduced it too later; this time, the character in question was sixteen or something. I'd say the point of genius they introduced was in the bad guys. I mean, who can say they've never, for a second, stopped a thought, "We're capturing wild animals and forcing them to battle for our own enjoyment... is this bad?"

And with that, I quote Penny Arcade's John Gabriel.
"Oh, my pokemon have to be free range! My pokemon have to be shade grown! I got all MY pokemon from the swap meet down by the... Fuck you! I see a pokemon I want, and I take it! I teach it to hate. I teach it to win. I put a pokemon in the chamber and I pull the fucking trigger. BLAM!" ---John Gabriel
That being said, it's always wonderful when the series you least expect to turn on itself and say "...wait, what?" does just that.

The Pokemon liberation thing actually reminded me of Peta, and it made me titter that they're the bad guys. I do really like that the bad guys actually have some sort of good intentions though. Having a bad guy knowingly freely admit that they're bad usually detracts from most stories for me, as most people usually have convinced themselves that they're doing good somehow, or at the very least doing bad for good reasons.
Also, the pokemon battles never bothered me as much as trapping them and storing them in a computer for the rest of their lives... Forever alone...

What bothers me is the fact I have only had one three on three battles and not a single rotation battle and I beat the Pokemon League...
Also, their argument seems a little hypocritical... "We don't want pokemon kept in pokeballs. But we keep ours in pokeballs." Would have been a good time to have the following mechanic from HG/SS.

Wilkinsons workbenches are not very good quality at all. The support struts on mine buckled, so I'm replacing them with wooden slats. On my way to a roleplaying game, I had one in my pocket. I started using it like a stress ball because I was quite pissed off at that point. It twisted and folded just from me playing with it with my hands.

I got a sturdy office desk as a workbench for home, it's not portable and not for every possible use, but when it comes to stability and strength, it's perfect. And second hand sturdy office desks are easy to find, I got mine for free in exchange for letting the guy's children pet Gouli. (or maybe it's Gouli who was just that awesome)
