I just saw the teaser for Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
I am ... meh about it. I mean, Hollywood is trying so hard to make a prequel to these movies when they don't need one. I mean, sure, they're using the same whatever they used for Avatar but it's just not the same. I'm just really indifferent about. I don't care how the Apes came into power, stop fucking up my Heston movie.

Wasn't there already a prequel to the prequel to the original? My vision of Planet of the Apes is perfect, as it hasn't been polluted with anything that isn't from 1968.

I have no idea where this one takes place. I know that it takes place in California. I don't know how far of a prequel this is other than the Apes are taking over.

It can't be worse than the one Tim Burton did a few years ago right?
Right?

Ninja'd, and I don't recall Tim Burton doing one in 2002. Can you say that through the noose? I guess it might be interesting to see how the apes overcame nuclear weaponry, guns and America and how they turned it all primitive but I don't know. In all the fancy technology, it'll lose the cheese and charm of the original. I don't know how far of a prequel this is other than the Apes are taking over.
And for Hollywood, that's all you need to know.

With all your complaining, the Planet of the Apes remake is closer to the original novel than the original movie.

I am too busy being narrow-minded to read the novel or watch the 2002 movie.

I put the car into ignition and hit the wall behind me.
I guess I should read it and then judge more without knowing all the facts.

I enjoyed Corpse Bride and bought the CD soundtrack for a pair of quarters before I saw the movie. Remains of the Day is what we'll be. It is Tim Burton, so it's related to the topic at hand. Never saw anything else by him, unfortunately.
And you know what? We backed out of that drive way, did a 270 and hit the street lamp. Or street light. Or a pole, avoiding some garbage cans.

As long as the garbage is safe.
As far as Tim Burton goes I initially liked him very much, but then I came to realize that every one of his movies looks and feels too similar. To me his works felt very stale very fast for this reason.
