Anton LaVey. And the Necronomicom was gimmicky crap. Cool looking gimmicky crap but gimmicky crap nonetheless. Completely random trivia, in the movie Babylon A.D. (which had so much wasted possibility) Vin Diesels character had a tattoo which was lifted from the 70s version.

Of course that Necronomicon is crap which is why I didn't buy it but was given it. It goes well alongside my "Gospel of The Flying Spaghetti Monster" to keep shelf browsers amused/perturbed.
*ADDENDUM* Just read "Where's My Cow?" by Terry Pratchett. A true work of genius.

There's so much text that it's like a book; Erfworld. Just finished Book 1 and onto Book 2: Love is a Battlefield. Restarted a few days ago and just as good as before.

I'm like 10 pages into The Hunger Games and I can't focus. For some reason when the main character is a teenager, I just don't care anymore. Unless it's Harry Potter.

Broken Record present's HK's Greatest Hits for the Mundane Meatbag demands that you switch to Battle Royale, for the more enjoyable read and for proper violence in your survival games.
About to start A Game of Thrones while reading a book that teaches you how to properly break down doors, break into cars and hot-wiring them.

Everyone I talk to always brings up Hunger Games. At first, I thought that the reason for this was that it was close to lunch time, but then I found out it has nothing to do with food. Just finished reading World War Z and moving onto the comic version of the Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Outbreaks. Never gets old.

Just finished Moon is a Harsh Mistress. It's much better than I thought when I was a kid - the thing about Heinlein is that he's more sociologist and politician than he is author, and you have to have a taste for that. His descriptions are dry; he doesn't really "show" anything, just narrates with terse verbiage. But he has an excellent sense of history, engineering, and human nature, and the Lunar revolution he describes in Harsh Mistress is both interesting and plausible. A lot of his other work I think is overrated, but as hardcore science fiction, this one is excellent. Re-reading the hobbit. Aha! Also a good one. A bit slow, unfortunately, but it's by far my favorite work by Tolkein.
