Considering The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
I read the first in the series a long time ago, and part of book 2, but I never got past that.
*Edit: Actually started Fahrenheit 451 instead. I'm really liking it so far.

Finished Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett, which was pretty good. Went by quick, and liked Esk and Granny. Still miss Cut-Me-Own-Throat Dibbler, which is one of the best damn names for a salesman there is.
And until I get my next Joe Abercrombie book, The Quantum Thief, by Hannu Rajaniemi, because anything less than Hard Sci-Fi is for pussies.

Hells yes it does. Finished Fahrenheit 451 last weekend. I didn't realize how short it was; still, I really liked it a lot. Heavily considering Something Wicked this Way Comes now. |

Dystopian books are the best! Next thing im going to read is "Mammoth Book of..." science fiction. Its an awesome series of short stories antologies, i think that its an annual thing. They are all very long, so a lot of short stories! http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/series/the-mammoth-book-of-/ there is SO MANY OF THEM. My favourite title: "Mammoth book of Egyptian whodunnits" I know that there are over 100 milion people in egypt so there has to be a lot of Egyptian books and short stories, but the title still is odd/awesome. |

Heh, that's hilarious. I'm a terrible terrible liar. I wanted to start the previously mentioned books but I couldn't find them. I was able to find Mister B. Gone. I've never read a Clive Barker book before, so I thought I'd give it a try, and it's really amazing so far. |

Best friend pissed me off REALLY badly a few weeks ago, so he bought me A Game of Thrones to make peace. Granted, he only dug himself deeper when he tossed the book at me and it ended up hitting and breaking a key off of my laptop, but still...
Anyway, I hope I enjoy it as much as I did the show.

Right. The ongoing grind through all 9 of Simon R. Green's "Deathstalker" Series rumbles on:
Deathstalker Destiny: Just about everyone dies horribly. Also The Recreated are truly disturbing.
Deathstalker Legend: Set 200 years later and The Empire is in a Golden Age. Until one nasty bugger decides to muck it all up. Lewis Deathstalker has to go on the run (the scene where four different assassins turn up to kill him in the street and start arguing is hilarious. Pure Monty Python).
Deathstalker Return: Warning- Contains Mild Time Travel. The bad guys are truly vile. The AIs of Shub are even creepier when they're trying to be nice and make up for being The Enemies of Humanity two centuries back. The Terror is waaaay disturbing. Dr Happy is now my new idol. the Esper Liberation Force are truly vicious, beaten only by the uber-espers (believe me when I tell you the Spider Harps just keep getting more twisted). Really nasty murder scene involving a Paragon and a paper weight.
Deathstalker Coda: Warning- Contains Scenes Of Extreme Time Travel: Blood in the streets. A visit to The First Empire. More nastiness. Things are starting to be explained (I am only half way through this one). There's a nasty suspicion that there's going to be no happy endings for the usual suspects.
But hey, it's epic Space Opera with humour.
Also, while I was waiting for the last four books to arrive in the post, I read Green's "Shadows Fall" and liked it. The town of Shadows Fall is where dreams and legends go to die. Seriously, the scarecrow Jack Fetch will disturb you. Though the pitched battles where an army of religious fanatics are being held back by cartoon characters and children's story characters are priceless. Like when Bruin Bear complains, "What's he mean by 'demon' and 'hellspawn'? I'm a fucking teddy bear!"

Just finished Mister B. Gone. I really enjoyed it a lot; so much so that I think I'm going to try out more of Clive Barkers works. Finally found a copy of The Hellbound Heart which the Hellraiser movies were based off of, so I'm gonna give it a try.
