Re-reading The Lovecraft Omnibus Vols I, II, and III. Read them years ago but they are now mine as part of that huge stash a friend gave me years ago. Has all his works including Mythos, Dreamlands, fragments and an essay on Gothic horror in literature. It is both tenebrous and squamish. And possibly even zymotic at points.
As to Clive Barker: don't bother with Weaveworld as it's overly wrong and not that good. Cabal (on which the film Nightbreed was based) is rather good.

Lovecraft rocks. I spent my formative years reading his works like mad which probably explains a lot. The Necronomicon collection isn't quite the full omnibus but it's a satisfying timesink.

Just finished reading the last book of the Hunger Game series, "Mockingjay". I'm not really one for being so eloquent in critiquing most things, but it's a pretty good series and I enjoyed them. Now there's a conclusion, I'm kinda sad now. lol

Quickly went through X-Wing: Iron Fist and it's one of my favorite Star Wars books in the EU. Humor, action, feats of awesome and no one is safe. And Kettch, one of the best running jokes in the EU.

Still ploughing big stack of books so recently it's been Terry Brooks. The Voyage Of The Jerle Shannara Trilogy: "Ilse Witch", "Antrax" and "Morgawr". Yet more running around questing, fighting ancient evils and no one trusting Druids. Next up it's the "High Druid of Shannara" Trilogy starting with "Jarka Ruus". After those three it's the "Word and Void" Trilogy. After that I might re-tackle the "Ender's Game" Trilogy. Just have to remember that "The enemy's gate is DOWN!"

I remember reading a ton of the Shannara books for a while, there was a point where they went from good, to just readable to utter shite but I can't remember what those specific points were. I do remember there seemed to be an inverse relationship between the quality of the books and cover art though.

I concur. It's all going a bit David Eddings, which is why I haven't actually bought any Shannara books for years. Not since the death of Cogline the retired mad Druid . The only redeeming part of this last three is the character study of Walker Boh and having sworn not to be a manipulative bastard like previous Druids he still ends up having to be and hates every second of it . And the half-human shapeshifter was an interesting character too.

Star Wars - The New Jedi Order: Force Heretic III: Reunion by Sean Williams and Shane Dix, decided to restart it again and it's not so bad. Just gotta focus and it's a good balance of three different plots. Flipping between this and Darksaber by Kevin J. Anderson, which is a pretty damn good SW book.
