Actually, from the couple reviews I read about the game, that hits the mark. Unless all of the reviewers were completely wrong on the same subject.
No, I've played the game, there is no Sexism at all, people are just stupid. She disregards her suit abilities out of respect towards Adam, who became her father figure after her parents died. Besides, it's Metroid, it would be lame if you had everything right away.
I've seen reviewers say "OMG DIS SUCKZ ZOOOOO BAYED!!1!"
While the other ones say "Could'a been better, but wasn't bad."
The latter part seems to usually be... more objective while the other often appears as fanboy rage.
Kinda annoying.
Yeah, the prior is usually the ones who think they're hardcore fans of the series, or are Retro Biased "Fans" who hate it because it's not exactly like Super Metroid. A lot of the reviews I've read have been the latter of those two. On the Metroid Database Forum of which I am a member, there are several reviews by long time Metroid fans, and they loved it.
The Game, while not my favorite in the Series, is still very good.
