(SIGH) My eight year old son is obsessed with some "Beyblade" cartoon/marketing device.
It's anime about God damned Tops! That is not right.
I used to love it (when I was like 12), but that was while the franchise was stupid and poorly animated. Not... retarded and overly flashy like it is today. And I say "overly flashy" by anime standards.

If the tops I played with as a kid shot out dragons and flew around all over the place and stuff, you had better damn well believe I'd still be a top fan.

It was when I overheard my son telling his friends the key to victory was having more COURAGE in your Beyblade that's when my brain melted.
Adding Courage to a top... how is that done exactly?

Lots of Alcohol. Possibly drugs.
I think you should keep your son away from the world of competitive top battling. It's a really bad road to go down.

I'm sorry, but... your son is possibly turning into a weaboo. The only cure is a harsh dose of reality.

If he was interested in that kind of top I'd be worried less.

Since it's based on a children's merchandise toy line and as long as gullible parents and ignorant children purchase them like saps, it'll never die.
Still have my Beyblade though; Flash Leopard. Not only free, but it broke other Beyblades.
Shoot... keep on mixing Beyblade with Bakugan...

Still have my Beyblade though; Flash Leopard. Not only free, but it broke other Beyblades. I never really got into Beyblade. But I did design one once that was made from a modified angle grinder. I don't think it would have worked, though, but if it did it would have ruled...
