I feel sorry for my uncle who has so much potential to be a smarter and brighter person then I, who sits around all day. Believing a "Raid" is more important then going out to club, or scoring with a chick. I suspect he wouldn't want to go to a club regardless of what he was doing. MMOs get the blame because a lot of people that can't moderate themselves share MMOs as a common problem, but honestly they're just hobbies, and those same people would have the same problem with whatever they chose as a hobby, MMOs just happens to be the most popular choice so it catches the heat as the cause rather than the weak willed people playing them.

That's true. I don't knock MMOs as addictive in themselves, just time consuming. It's addictive personalities + time consuming hobbies that create a problem, usually at the detriment to their health.

My attention span is much too short for MMOs, thankfully. And too short for most RPGs.

Games in general, and mmos in particular, are something to do on days when the wind is blowing hard enough it's hard to stand up. Today being one of those days.

I realize MMO weren't for me after Diablo II.... and since then it was FPS & RTS , for me uhg, I hated both Diablo's. WoW is fun, though I don't understand why people get so addicted to it...STO is slightly more addicting, and I find the space combat far more enjoyable then anything WoW has, though the ground combat in STO is often annoying.

It took me so long to figure out what STO meant... Makes me feel out of the loop.
Still Drone Tactics, and the conversations aren't actually half bad (Around chapter 20, but the "character development" part and not the story-based dialogue). The story is still pretty generic and predictable, but the gameplay is still amazing and totally worth the price of admission.

L4D2. As much as I hate to say it, I'm starting to regret buying it. Don't get me wrong, the game is fun, just it's really hard to have fun when 85% of people in the Game don't use mics, therefore killing the cooperative elements of the game, and just having a bunch of morons running about shooting shit without organization. I really don't want to have to go through a campaign finale 5 times on normal because a couple people have no idea what they're doing because they don't have goddamn mics. It seems the only people I can have fun playing the game with are my friends, the people who actually do have mics.
If Valve actually releases some decent DLC for the game then I'll keep it for longer than I think it will, but if the rest of the DLC is just lame 3 Part Campaigns then I won't even bother.

Adam and Masam. I promise I'll be on to play with you sometime Yutz, I just gotta keep my sleep on schedule during the week because of work. And our party's always good for mics and teamwork.
