Give it a rent and see what you think. If you like borderlands, you'll probably like this, and so far the game is plenty long, you won't be able to blow through it in a single sitting.
EDIT: Made some more good progress in Dead Island, I am 70% of the way through the main quest now. I hope once you beat it you can still continue to explore the world.
I've also been playing a bit of Space Marine. Got to level 5. I'm not that great at the online unfortunately, but now I can customize my own class, and appearance. I've made the Black Templar Chapter Outfit (one of the two Chapter Outfits you get for pre-ordering, the other being the Space Wolves Chapter) my primary outfit for now until I can get some more armor pieces. I'm a bit disappointed the cool melee weapons are only used with the Assault class or whatever its called, the one with the jump pack, which only gets a melee weapon, grenade, and bolt pistol, so I can't rock a Bolter and Chainsword if I wanted to. The Tactical Marine Class just gets a combat knife as a melee weapon. Ah well. Speaking of melee weapons, thanks to Warhammer 40k Kill Team I get early access to use the Power Sword in Multiplayer, which is a wondrous weapon.
EDIT: Made it to level 14 in WH40k Space Marine. I've made two custom classes (Have yet to unlock more loadout slots), one for Assault, and another for Tactical. I've also customized my Marine to look like the Novamarines Chapter, they even had their emblem, and I think I did a good job of making it look like a Novamarine too.

As I mentioned before, I got a 3DS and have been having a grand time with it. I bought Soul Silver, and have so far only gotten four badges. I don't seem to be as quick at leveling as I used to be, and my party isn't as diverse as I remember making, but I've got way more patience to level multiple Pokemon, and it's nice to grab a free level every now and then, since I walk frickin' everywhere.
Also, I cannot find a goddamn Pokemon that can use Surf, and I need to cross an ocean to get medicine. FFFFFFFFFF

EDIT: Pirated copy of MC. Got the 1.8 update for it, very fun. The endermen are definitely creepy. I got myself a Catachan Jungle Fighter skin too, it seems quite fitting.

Yellow Frog? No problem. Zombie Rock Troll? Can't kill him in melee but nothing enormous amounts of imps can't kill. Fire Giant? Not immune to Mephitic Cloud so time to fuck him up. There must be some phat loot at the end of the rainbow.

Beat Dead Island. Quite an ending. I also played the last bit with the "Analog" combat system, which is a lot more immersive, and gives you more control over your attacks. There were times when it was a bit tedious, but it was quite fun over smashing right trigger over and over. One problem I have is that enemies level up with you, kinda like Fallout, but even then they seem a fair bit stronger than you.
In all it was a very fun and satisfying game, I actually just started my second playthrough.

Just got Deus Ex. It's fun, but I don't have any damn clue what I'm doing.
Also, why the hell did they give me a bunch of side-quests in the very beginning, when most of them require either high hacking level checks, or stealth sequences I'm not prepared for?
