The exploration and puzzles are fun at times. Just a lot of the exploration bits seem so thrown in, most of the time it's just to get around a door to unblock it or something, I dunno, it's weird to describe.

I know what you mean, kind of "Hey Nate, you should push this wheelbarrow so you can climb over this gate and flip the latch!" "Hey Nate, you should climb out this window then go along the outside of this castle so you can come in the other window and unlock this gate!"

Yeah, exactly, and a lot of times these little obstacles they come across can be easily overcome by say a little muscle, like say kicking down the door instead of going around to unlock it, crawling under or over the fence instead of sending the car through it, etc.

Tried to play some more Transformers. Just couldn't do it, the game was putting me to sleep, I might try later, but it's just such a dull game. Right now I'm playing a bit of BF3.

I keep seeing adds for The Darkness 2, and I keep saying to myself "Man, I really want to play that", but I just CANNOT get back into the first one. I found out that my save was gone so I had to completely restart, and you know that just dulls everything way the fuck down.

True that for loads of games, only a certain few (That come to mind) don't make me mind replaying a few hours.

Jak II, Hoverboarding ain't that bad, certainly better than racing against the clock.

Fuuuuck Dungeon Defenders is getting tedious. Not because of the game, of course, but because of the guy I was complaining about earlier.

(click to show/hide)

I tried out Fallen Earth, the new free MMO on Steam. Just... Wow. It's... Bad. It looks like bad, and it plays like bad. If you want a better free MMO, I can point you to more free MMOs than I can actually point to because I can only realistically point at two at a time. And no, just having a single finger pointing in the direction of a thing does not count as a point, because pointing is a full hand kind of thing.

Necromancer needs to post some pics on some skellys he raised from the dead. Never experienced a guy like that with my limited online multiplaying, and to be tied to him like that sounds just painful.

Fallen Earth sounds kinda cheesy, in a post-apocalyptic, skimpy women kind of way.

Killer7; that game released a few years back that had reviews from 35% to 95%; the game made by the genius that is Suda 51; the game about an old man in a wheelchair with a split personality disorder comprised 7 assassins who square off against the terrorist organization Heaven's Smile, made up of demon bombers while a dead man talks shit about you, a dead man in red bondage, hanging from the ceiling gives you advice and a talking head gives you rings, all the while collecting blood to regain health, upgrade abilities and who am I kidding, this shit's awesome in the first chapter.

So worth the 15 bucks for this hidden, stylish fucked up gem.

Beat the Alan Wake's American Nightmare trial, very good, makes amazing use of music once again, I really need to get a points card so I can buy it.

I'm playing Alan Wake as well, only I'm playing the first one. This game... I have very mixed feelings about it, but... I suppose my feelings are sort of like booze and soda here, because all of it mixes together to create something that makes me feel pretty damn good. Keep in mind, I'm playing on the PC, so if what I say varies from the xbox version, I played what I did of that too long ago for me to remember. First things first, the animation. The cutscene animations are bad, especially the faces. Some things work, some things don't. Even Alan's movements in the actual game feel a bit weird, but you sort of get used to them. Sometimes the dialogue, mostly Alan's narration feels a bit forced, I don't know if it's his tone or whatever, but it just... Feels awkward.

And that's the last of the shit from the goldpan. The gameplay here... I can't really explain it. The controls are SO fucking fluid and smooth. When you're wandering through the forest, wondering where the next taken is going to leap from, you get a bit nervous, and the controls mimic that perfectly. The flashlight moves quickly, very quickly, and yet, for how quickly it moves, you can control it so well that it gives you the feeling of sweeping it back and forth yourself. And yet, even though the controls are so quick, I have yet to have trouble lining up a shot. The gunplay is extremely solid, each shot feeling like it has it's own weight as you fire round after round into the taken. Resource management, which is a VURRY SURREYUS thing for survival horror gamers is pretty perfect in this game, at least for me. You start out feeling comfortable with the amount of ammo you've got, and then watch with horror as it dwindles down very quickly. The game, from what I've played, thankfully doesn't ever keep you completely dry for very long, which I know makes a lot of survival horror buffs roll their eyes and scoff, but for gamers like me who enjoy having that feeling of panic when you see a grouping of enemies but don't really enjoy having no option other than get punched, it makes the game awesome. I could write more, but I don't feel like I'm writing clearly enough to enjoy it. So I'm going to go play more video games.

Wrapped up the first chapter of Killer7 with a pretty sweet boss battle and an interlude/chat with the big bad, whom (Or who) is blown back out of a window, onto a rooftop a ways away. And he drops the bullet he caught. Then it's gorgeous anime cutscene time and some smacking around old people abuse. Been using a Mexican wrestler to blow shit up with dual grenade launchers but messed up badly with some Bombers.

Still grinding away on Anarchy Online. My Engineer has reached the mid 90s of the free 200 levels and I have made a shocking discovery. Roll mission - me and Robot Pet go to do mission - it's filled with enemies (nothing new there) - NINJABOTS! I mean there are ROBOT NINJAS to fight through! And I'm at that "Oh Goddess, every time I level and get Improvement Points I have more skills to raise than I have IP to do them with and my brain hurts" stage. Especially as I looted a sweet gun I *want* in my left hand that not only hits for energy damage but *adds* over 150 points against cold damage but to use it I need to raise Dual Wield as well as Pistol and I have to boost Nanoprograming, Runspeed, Body Development, Weaponsmithing, Treatment and about 64 other skills as well. Still I am wearing a blood splattered labcoat and a hockey mask as Social Clothes. Which is a laugh.
