See, I feel the same way about Jack. Miranda might be wearing skin tight clothing, but Jack is 48% naked. Miranda is a bitch if you never talk to her, and she's a racist if you really stretch it (kind of like the whole Yeoman Chambers getting boned by a varren thing), She works for Cerberus, of course she's going to think of the human race overall first. She never actually says anything so blatant as "Yeah, you have a dog, and you like your dog, but if you get attacked by a bear, it's still just a dog, you sic it on it and run like hell" when talking about the other races.
As far as the torture thing goes, shit happens, it's not right, and she's wrong. But by that argument, you have to think of all of the shit Jack has done and been completely okay with it.

Well I don't necessarily like Jack either. Honestly I don't like any of the female choices. Tali is okay now that shes less like a school girl, and Tali is cool. Femshep gets all the best romances options imo.

Which sums it up. Saw a mention of the puzzle on TVTropes which tipped me off and thinking of looking up the solution. It's just plain aggravating now and it lost a good amount of it's luster. If it wasn't for Megidolaon/Victory Cry and lowered encounters from a sub-app, I might have stalled on it.
