However... you can have "white-necked" ravens as pets. Those come from Africa. They're not really a different species, as they can interbreed with regular ravens, but they're different enough for the law to be satisfied. White-necked ravens count as exotic animals. And, since they're not actually a different species, many of the so-called white-necked ravens can and do wind up being all black. It's just a matter of making sure you have a pedigree for your pet, and making sure that you get the bird from a reputable breeder. So, is there actually someone that checks your pet to make sure it is what you claim it is? Just wondering how strict this is actually enforced, or if someone with any 'ol run of the mill scanner could make some pedigree documents and claim their raven is of the exotic variety? I can't imagine too much effort is put into trying to varify every single exotic pet owner has exactly what they're claiming to have.

I read this AP: YAY i got permission to cut my mullet As this AP: YAY i have a mullet and rather than immediately try to get rid of it I wait for permission
and thought this Big stiff zombie weiner.
I was going to just quote myself and change what I quoted, but decided that would be funnier.

I can't imagine too much effort is put into trying to varify every single exotic pet owner has exactly what they're claiming to have. Well, you're going to have to take your pet to the vet at some point. For pets that look like wild animals, they're probably going to want to see the actual documentation. You could fake it, and maybe the vet wouldn't notice- but if they did, then you'd get in trouble with the local fish and wildlife people, and lose your pet in the bargain. Another concern is, yeah, you could fake the paperwork... but you'd still have to somehow kidnap a baby raven to raise by hand. It's just easier to go to a breeder... AP: I was talking to my boss about my plans for dinner and she just out of the blue handed me twenty bucks. I love it when she does that because it's not one of those things that comes out of my check, it's just like "Here's an extra $20 for being a good employee."
