Oh my god, I come in here to discuss this pretty sweet looking movie, and this thread is only on it's first second page and it's getting out of control. Anyways, Lambeth, it may be simplified, but she is right, it's pretty much a classic tale of Cowboys and Native Americans (Lets be politically correct here XD), except the Natives are Aliens, and the Cowboys are Marines. There's much more to it than that, but that's basically what it's about. She's not saying it's a bad movie, she's just saying the plot doesn't interest her. And yeah, it has been done before, but when was the last time it was actually done well? This is a new, refreshing take on a classic story, with some added plot elements and such. I haven't seen anything related to Pocahontas in ages, but I don't think they had somebody disguise as a native to go in and learn more about them or whatever in those classic stories. Hell, last time I saw a Pocahontas movie was that old Disney one. Regardless, I really can't wait to see this movie. EDIT: OK, so my post brought it to the second page. XD

Apparently my sister heard it wasn't very good, so I probably won't be seeing it.

I thought it was pretty great. When I went to watch it though I did so in 3D and my dumb sister decided we should sit in the front seats despite my objections...never listening to her again.

When the movie was first announced that's what I first thought was (If you don't know, Avatar is also a crappy Nickelodeon cartoon). XD

The Toon was excellent, I just don't think M. Night Shyamalan is that great at making movies.

I went to see it a few hours ago. I really enjoyed it. I expected to like it, but I came out of the theater stunned. The 3D was brilliant and definitely not over done like in other 3D movies. Even though you kind of know what is going to happen, it still catches you in a way that you weren't expecting.
That's what I think anyways.

Actually its not Pocahontas, more like Dances with Wolves with Future Warfare, Aliens, Heavy Combat and Mecha.
Still going to see it at the theaters because I like all of the above.

I just saw it in 3D! Plain awesome! The story I thought was very well done and original. The battle scenes are utterly breathtaking and on such a large scale it makes you dizzy. Freaking huge gunships! "I think diplomacy has failed" *PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW*

Didn't see it in 3d, but did see it. Nothing like Pocahontas, but I will agree that it shares a lot in common with Dances With Wolves. Anyway, it's badass, and all around very well made movie. They got most of the sciency details right, which I think is what really took it over the edge. That and for virtually all of the movie, the CGI was good enough that it was easy to forget that it was CGI
