Ugh, apparently it's a major violation but no one at my work [as in, the regional AND district managers, who i see every day] told me that I was required to get it and that is the thing that is pissing me off the most. So, now I have to go take this class wherever the hell it is. As of right now, I don't even know that I'm allowed to even work or not. BLAH PP: this whole situation sucks. My boss is going to be coming in early at work tomorrow and I think we're going to be sitting down and talking about this. I just have that "I'm new at this store and I feel like I've let him down." :c That's what's really bumming me out. |

Don't feel too bummed, Hail. It is his fault for not informing you of needing the certificate. Don't worry yourself, if its anything like what I did, it should be easy as pie, and its probably not quite as long as they say (Mine only took about an hour). |

When I was a fast food manager you required to get the certificate within so much time of being assigned the position. In my case my company paid for me to get it and I was under the impression this was pretty standard practice.

See, this is where they just told me: "oh, just fill out random numbers because we'll figure this shit out later." The later turned out to be HEALTH INSPECTOR. I thought it was common practice as well, but wham. I know that all the GM's have it, but I was not under the impression that I, as an assistant manager was supposed to get one (and before anyone goes: WOW YOU ARE AN IDIOT, no, I was not aware of this. Every GM has one and displays it, but there was nothing that my company said that I was supposed to get one.) I'm not trying to make excuses, but if I was supposed to have one, I should've been told when I got promoted, not by the inspector herself. @ Yut and AM: Yep, pretty much. There's nothing I can do. No one knew that they were coming, either (lol why would they). I didn't have what was required and it was a violation. Is it my fault? Possibly. Is it the company's fault? Also a possibility. But, it's getting taken care of and I can hope for the best. The good thing is that she's coming back on Wednesday to talk to the GM about our "violations." Blarg. PP: My nails. I cut one too short and now it's growing in weird. |
