PP: Remote is messed. The amount of pressure I have to apply to some buttons is likely equivalent to that of the pressure needed to make diamonds. I know I could use the buttons on my TV, but those are outta whack too. >>
Whack it on something. Most remotes I've ever dealt with don't have any screws holding them together, so if you can pry them open, you can clean the inside then snap it back together.

I'll have to do that then. I've already tried popping it open with my knife though, so it's gonna be tricky. >>

Well, I've only done this trick when the remote was pretty much broken otherwise, but I find spiking it like a football is a good way to get some remotes to pop open, if you throw it too hard though you can break the insides and then it's perma-broke, but if it was messed up too bad anyways....*shrug*
If it's semi-working or if you'll get in trouble, don't try it. >.>

It's Semi-Working. It's just that I have to push the volume buttons incredibly hard to get anything to happen, which is tedious. I don't think I want to risk breaking it though.

What kind of references y'need, chummer?
That's the thing, I didn't actually know what I was looking for since I was analyzing a film and how it could act as a catalyst to bring awareness. It's hard to describe, but you basically made a point and then compared it to a scene in the movie and the filming elements, so referencing didn't really fit there. I ended up just finding information about common post-nuclear war apocalypse themes that I already knew about, such as nuclear winter, savagery and whatnot, and then somehow implementing it with the report. Example: Nuclear winter is a condition in the weather that is caused from smoke from nuclear-started fires spreading to the atmosphere; the smoke absorbs sunlight and heat, while still allowing heat to escape from the earth; it darkens the sky, and ultimately can lower the earth’s temperature by 1-5°C in as little as a few months. A change in even one degree of temperature can have drastic affects on the Earth and may be detrimental to the ecosystem and hence the survival of some species, including humans. (Pagewise, 2002; http://www.essortment.com/all/whatisnuclear_rioc.htm, ) The effects of nuclear winter are not overlooked in The Road, or The Book of Eli. In both movies, the lighting is clearly much more dim than normal, and several shots in The Book of Eli display the unusual amount of blackish-grey “clouds” in the sky, and in both movies, survivors are clad in winter clothing despite the lack of any indicative signs of cold (such as snow).

If you could figure out a legal way of doing so, I'd invite you to Chapel Hill to hunt the city deer here. They'll walk up to the porch while you're standing on it, here.
