Mine weren't uncomfortable when I had them. They also didn't explode until a couple years after I bought them. Then again, I prefer boots over anything, although I haven't worn boots in some years.

I've had the same pair for over a year now and I've worn them to several concerts where people tend to step on my feet a shitload. They are still comfortable and in good condition (just dirty).
